Timeline for Ga BON review

Published

First time posting here. I've read through a lot of the forums on the site but haven't seen anyone post with a similar situation or at least recently in past year. I'm in my last two weeks of nursing school currently. My school had us all file an application to take the nclex already. I had to answer yes to a past arrest on the application. 5.5 years ago I had been in a bad spot in my life and long story short was dumb and arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. I wrote the board a letter detailing the events and how I've changed since then. Ive made good grades and haven't been in any trouble since. The past arrest was expunged from my record even. I was 19 at the time and am currently 24. I was concerned about the time it would take to review my application because of the arrest and since I live in Macon I drove to the board to talk to someone about it. I was told I would be allowed to test and that my application would be reviewed once my test results came back. I'm only concerned that once I pass the nclex that I will be waiting for several months just to have it reviewed. I currently plan on taking the nclex at end of May. Anyone with similar experience that can shed some light on how long I'm gonna be waiting? Or if I'm even likely to receive a license or not?

I just went through this. I took and passed my NCLEX September 30th, 2024. It is now November 7th and my license is still pending. I also only have a misdemeanor charge. I jumped in a pool without paying for the hotel so I got disorderly conduct.. 11 years ago. I was told once I was cleared to take the NCLEX that was it. So I signed a lease on an apartment in another state and found a great job out there. Problem is GBON keeps pushing is out 20 more business days, 3 times so far. My job probably will not wait, and I'm without a job as of now. Supposedly they are sending me a pamphlet on the 13th. Hopefully good news but I am seriously doubting it. Anyways just don't do like me sign for an apartment before receiving your license, bc it may take forever
