Time stamp 8/10/2012 8:01:45 am anyone else???

I do not have a source other than what I see going on at hospitals. Hospitals are looking for BSN nurses and the nurses who do not have BSN's are being asked to get that degree. The schools provide trained nurses to fill the market need. If the need is for nurses to have a BSN, then it only stands to reason that they will change to fill that need. The CEP program does that. It trains nurses at the community colleges, but they leave with a BSN. I don't know the timeframe that this will happen, but it is heading that direction. If the CEP program is accepting students directly into the program without a wait then what happens to the people who have been waiting for a slot (not CEP students)? They get bumped back. If a program has 40 seats and 38 are filled with CEP students, that wait list just got a lot longer.
This is just my opinion, but it makes sense.

Wbthomas I completely understand where you are coming from and I too see the program EVENTUALLY switching over to all CEP. But for some of us the only option we have right now is to wait. I myself and a military wife and can afford to wait my time in line. Who knows I might end up finding a program where we are stationed but until I do waiting is my only option. I have already have a degree and have all but 2 of my CEP prerequisites completed and my plan is to go into the CEP once I return to Arizona. But again until that time I am at least on the wait list waiting for my turn.

Actually I just called today and the amount of "openings" you see are specifically for people who are not CEP, its public and goes by the time stamp. CEP has their own list. That is what I was told when I called the nursing program hotline. So if it says 50 seats available, that means 50 people that have the oldest time stamps will be next.
