Noontime, exactly on the dot.
I stayed up reading until 3 AM. So much for going to bed at 1 AM! But, I did wake up at 10 AM, made coffee, fed the dog, and came back to bed.....still soooo sleepy....I then dozed for an hour, and here I am again, a bit more awake after the coffee kicked in. But I will prolly need a 2nd cup after I get up and get dressed.
Supposed to be in the ^80's, and partly sunny, but so far it is still overcast. Last night I had to empty the dehumidifier, and was disgusted to find that the towels I placed in the leaky corner of the den were sopping wet, so I had to get them to the washing machine, and then mop up the floor and put more towels down. Then I stepped on a Momo poop and had to clean that up. Then she urped on the sofa (on the underpads I put on her side,) By the time I was done picking up I was so exhausted and depressed feeling.
SiL left me some texts last night on the cell phone, said she'd made arrangements for a woman to come sit with Nannie on Thursdays (starting next week) from 1 PM to 6 PM, to give me some time off. SiL doesn't always have regular days off, even though she is now "part-time", so she wanted me to have one day I could actually count on having some time off. And she will still come over one day to do the shower thing for Nannie, but we don't know which day until she gets her schedule each week. I know this is sort of 'good news' but I still feel stuck here. I do NOT want to spend time off doing errands, but it seems like that will continue to be the case most of the time. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but I am really, really sooooo tired of Nannie sometimes. I actually don't mind "staying home", but I do hope Nannie gets into the Senior Center a couple of days a week; she is still on the waiting list.
Last night Nannie decided she didn't like the little clock I put on her chair-side table last year, and gave it to me to take it away. Then I decided it was time for her to go to bed, but she said she wasn't sleepy. Huh. So I got her to bed at 10:30. Momo was trying to tell me it was bedtime from 9:45 until when I did take Nannie to the bathroom at 10:20. When she got in the bathroom and put on her pj's, she asked me if I was going to take her over to my house now. I told her we were already at home, and I live here with her; and it's her other DiL who takes her over to her house, and it doesn't happen at bedtime.
Anyway, now I have to go down and empty the dehumidifier again, and prolly change the dern towels in the corner of the den. More laundry....oh JOY!
Up and at 'em.
Afternoon, folks. Imma sitting here trying to shake off the woolies, 'cuz I've got stuff to do! I've been busy though. My eyeglasses fell apart this morning, and I thought the screw fell out. I called the place I got them, and they can't look at my glasses until tomorrow afternoon. Uh, I need them to see, doggone it. So I did my quick 2 mile jog (in my old glasses) then drove to the mall to Lenscrafters who fixed them in a jiffy, no charge. I know where I will get my next pair! Then I stopped by dd's house to plant the sweet pea seeds I forgot to take on Tuesday, plus a few little lobelia, that will have nice mixed blue blossoms. Then I dropped my car off to have them check the air conditioning. They just called, it's all done. I also pulled the sheets off the bed, and have a load of t shirts and jammies to fold. dh is going to be at a gardening meeting tonight, so I'm going to share a bowl of popcorn with the dogs for dinner. They are getting better at catching the kernels, as long as I toss it just right.
I woke up this morning to see tiny bloody paw prints on the bedroom carpet and down the hall, into or out of the kitchen. Neither dog had bloody paws this morning, so I don't know what happened. But that's why the sheets are in the washer.
dh wants me to help him make a cake, which usually means I do most of it, while he reads me the directions. Oh well. It's some sort of strawberry cake. It gets topped with fresh berries and whipped cream. I remember the first time I tried to make whipped cream, I made butter. oops.
Nannie got ugly with me today, like she used to with hubby. Arguing, complaining, being mad but not being able to explain except to say, "I am mad at everybody and with everything." (Oh, I hear ya, Nannie! Sounds pretty familiar!) Anyway, she wanted the small clock off the chair-side table, and then she complained there was nothing on the chair-side table. I asked very nicely what she wanted on the table...."Things I can use!" but wouldn't get any more specific. Whatever I offered to do to resolve her complaints made her even madder. Then she said she had to go to the bathroom, but when she was seated on the toilet, she said she didn't understand why I brought her into the bathroom. Then she wanted to know where her clothes were, and when I told her, she wanted to go into her bedroom to inspect it. Then she decided (5 PM) that she was going to go to bed. Ten minutes later I heard her sliding clothes hangers on the pipe that serves as her 'closet'. Then she came back out and sat in her chair. I asked her if she's to eat supper, and she said she supposed she could eat something. I whipped up a quicky meal for her, she gobbled it up quickly. I gave her the suppertime meds and prayed she would calm down with medicine and a full belly. She hasn't said much of anything since supper ,,,, we're talkin' 3 hours or so. Ah, me. In her meds that come packaged per days/times by the pharmacy... she was missing 1/2 tab of Lexapro. Why would a missing 1/2 tab make her soooooo cranky? Well, I did check the packets for the rest of the days and the pills were all there, so it better not happen again! I sent a text to SiL that told her...."YOUR mother-in-law is being very ugly to me today! 🙄 She better not be going to the next level of dementia, but I'm afraid that is what is happening. UGH.
Anyway, just wanted to let you in on the fun that was going on today. Ppllrrbbb! (that's a raspberry)

Stars glad you slept well
Ado that sounds interesting, J and I once toured Wright's studio and home
NJ22 perhaps it's a sign of how dull I am but I tend to enjoy grocery shopping
Tweety glad the trip is going well
Yesterday at work was fairly calm, had time to wash the sheets and still get everything done. Afterwards did the grocery shopping for the week and exercised. Also worked on getting my alternate phone set up...my regular phone tends not to work when I'm visiting rural areas, so I have a 2nd phone that I use in these situations, like when visiting my aunt next week
Today after work supposed to meet my church friend D for dinner, though with her being in seminary plans may change
Think it's going to be warmer today, in the upper 70s, going to rain again I think
