Hello all!
Joe, that does make sense, as one's weight decreases, so cold intolerance increases, as the body's insulation diminishes. I hope today was, truly, "ordinary." 😉
It was 82 degrees today! I slept well (unlike the last two nights), and after lunch took our watches in to get the batteries changed. Then did the grocery shopping, for ingredients to make another batch of soup, and also a Mediterranean-style salad, for the potluck on Saturday (after the band does music). Tomorrow I will prepare both of those dishes.
When I got home with the watches, dh examined his and asked, "why is the time 2:30? Did he not update the time?" I looked at mine, which was keeping correct time (and I'd watched him update the time on each of the watches, after changing the battery). Dh watched his for a few minutes and determined it was not working. I'd put all the groceries away and gotten changed into Home Clothes, by that time. So, after determining the watch repair person was still in, I changed clothes again and took dh's watch to the shop. The man ruled out a bad battery, and after applying a drop of oil to the inside works, the watch still didn't work. So I left it with him -- he said for a week or two, so he could take it apart and see what the problem was. I feel bad for dh, he wears his every day. I only wear mine occasionally -- have gotten used to having nothing on my wrist, prefer it that way. Anyway, I hope the man can find the problem and it is an easy fix.
I hope you have had a smooth day, no big issues or drama. And, that something nice or nice and unexpected, has happened to you today. Have a good evening!
Mis-located (lost!) my eye drops last night; looked everywhere I could, then when CG got here she checked under all the furniture that I was prohibited from bending over to peer under. Had to call the eye doc's office, and they phoned 3 different eye drops in to my pharmacy, The drops I got at the eye doc's office was 'especially made' for me, ie three meds in one drop q4 hrs. Now I have to do 3 drops every 4 hours, but I labeled them 1st, 2nd, and 3rd so I didn't put one kind of the drops in twice. You know how I forget things.
CG got Nannie up today and got her dressed, I got the breakfast tray and meds ready. Then I had to drive out to the pharmacy because they said the scripts would be ready at 2:23 PM. I ended up having to sit and wait until 3:23 PM, AND I had to pay $80.80. I expect to find the drops given to me by the doc's office right after my cataract removal, and will have spent $80.80.....but since I will probably have my left eye cataract removed in another 6 weeks, I can use those drops then (maybe?) Who knows. Anyway, it was a P.I.A., but I got it done.
CG left at 6:30 PM. I have not heard from SiL ....is she not coming over to 'work' (put Nannie to bed) because it is her birthday? Who knows about that? As Grampa used to say, "Keeeee-RIPES!"
So, I am so so so happy-daappy-dippy-flappy and somewhat P.O'd at the usual cluck-up of the Activities of Daily Living "team" plan. Go team! That means ME! I am a team. I get to put Nannie to bed, but I will have to figure out how I will do it if I can't bend over.
Bad words, bad words and some more bad words! 😝

Tweety I find as my weight decreases so does my cold tolerance
Stars glad they're helping, although you're right they could do more
NJ22 hope the roads stay clear of flooding
The side project I was working on yesterday turned out to be more involved than I thought, and took more time than I thought. Thankfully some coworkers were able to assist. The rest of the day was quieter, which was good. And I was feeling better too
After work stopped at the library, and got a calendar for 2026 (and have already begun putting stuff on it for Jan). Exercised and started the gift wrapping.
Today should be an ordinary day at work, and an ordinary day after work too. Only planning to do exercise and more gift wrapping.
Going to be colder today, in the upper 20s. No snow expected, and the rains of yesterday melted part of the snow that we had.
