I'm creating this thread to have a small community get together and support each other for those applying to TJU's 2022 ABSN FACT 1/2 program. I myself am applying to FACT -1 for start in June 2022 ; definitely doing it earlier than later and will be 100% submitted by beginning of July.

This is my second application cycle - finger's are crossed but I'm definitely improving each time.

Hi everyone!  I applied last week (11/10) to the Dixon campus for FACT 1.  I have an interview next Wednesday 11/24 at 12:30.  I am interested to see how the interview process goes as we are in small groups.  I see someone mentioned that you did receive questions ahead of time to prepare.  Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted.  I was waiting to apply because I still have two science pre-reqs to take but they told me I could apply but my application may be put on hold.  I am hopeful!
Thanks!

Ahhh congrats on getting the interview, I just had mine this morning (11/17). It was pretty casual and laidback, the advisors were super welcoming and not intimidating. They do email you about 5 questions 24 hrs ahead and then from the 5 they have your group answers one by one 3 questions then afterwords the sorta personalize a question for you based on you previous responses. I would say study the questions right when you get them and be confident in you answers. Best of luck to you ?

I interviewed this morning and a few hours later got a call to say I was in! Super excited!

Hi Katie! I was just accepted last week to the FACT 1 at Dixon campus! The group interview was very informal, in my group there were 4 students and one person from admissions. We each were asked 3-4 questions and told to keep our answers brief and concise. They did send the questions via email the day prior and I received my acceptance exactly a week later. Best of luck in your interview!

Hi everyone! I also got accepted into the FACT 1 BSN at the Center City Campus.

- Has anyone figured out the actual tuition cost of FACT- 1 BSN program (just the program cost in general not including other expenses)?
- Does anyone want to share any insight on how the FACT programs' are structured (what past students have said about the program etc...)  and why you chose to apply to TJUs FACT 1 or FACT 2 BSN?

Can't wait to meet everyone ?

Hi everyone I just got accepted admission for FACT-1 fall 2022 at center city campus. I had interviewed on 11/24 and heard back 11/30. I am excited to meet you all !

I heard back as well and I will start FACT-1 at the Dixon campus!  Are there other folks joining Dixon here?  I am SO excited!  I am leaving a career in teaching and looking forward to the next chapter!

Congratulations! I’m also at Dixon! I’ve never been to Pennsylvania before, but I’m really excited.

Hi I was just accepted to TJU's FACT-1 fall 2022 City center campus today! I interviewed 12/8 and heard back 12/10. Super excited. I am still waiting to hear back from 's ACE program as well before I make a decision.

Hello, TJU FACT folks! Congratulations on your admissions!

I interviewed for FACT-1 Center City on 11/3 and received acceptance within that week. A few weeks later, sent me their acceptance for admission into their Fall 2022 ACE cohort. Upon acceptance, TJU's program will give you a deadline (~30days) to make an enrollment decision, including a $500 deposit, to hold your seat. With the possibility of ACE in mind, I waited until the very last day, but I made the choice to enroll in FACT-1. Below are a few of my reasons for choosing FACT-1 over ACE.

   nursej95x had posted these questions:
- Has anyone figured out the actual tuition cost of FACT- 1 BSN program (just the program cost in general not including other expenses)?
- Does anyone want to share any insight on how the FACT programs' are structured (what past students have said about the program etc...)  and why you chose to apply to TJUs FACT 1 or FACT 2 BSN?

First off, congrats nursej95x! You may have already found your answers, but I'll respond for anyone having the same questions.

- For 2021/2 tuition cost of FACT-1 was $48,410, plus $1066/yr general student fee and a $1924 nursing fee =$51,400 for 3 terms in a row, 12 months exactly. This may be adjusted by the university for 2022/3 (hopefully not), but these were the fees that were provided to us by the associate admissions for transfer admissions, Ms. Heughes, during the interview Q&A.

- FACT-1 became my first choice, despite Drexel's ACE having the name-recognition and reputation for being a high-demand ABSN program (plus, ACE will have a brand new simulation lab in the fall). Here are just a few of my reasons:

  1. FACT-1 Admissions Process - TJU's admissions staff were very present, supportive, and helpful. They were transparent in all of their responses to my questions and were timely and organized as well -- from their course-transfer policies, to their interviews, to their Admitted Students Meeting. True, the admissions staff will not become our mentors and teachers, but the fact that they were as well organized as they were gave me the sense that TJU's academic bureaucracy would be not as intimidating, perhaps even easier to navigate during a demanding and fast-paced accelerated program. Bonus: They automatically sent my recommenders a letter of thanks on my behalf. It was nice to receive notes of congratulations from the folks who helped me out. The program is encouraging and want you to feel good about attending.
  2. FACT-1 Cohort Size -- A compressed program as FACT-1 (or ACE) could potentially create a pressure-cooker environment, and I wouldn't want to be left in the dark at any point -- that a large cohort size might instigate additional pressure. Ideally, I would love to attend Dixon where their cohort size is smaller, 80-100, on a campus solely devoted to nursing, but that would be impossible where I am living now (close to Center City). The CC campus seats 160 nursing students, and I think that is large enough, but not overwhelmingly huge, as we would be spread out to do 2 days of clinicals and 2 days of labs/classes during the week. I would not care to see this 160 whittled down by attrition and would rather see all of my classmates graduate and pass their NCLEX. The admissions representatives mentioned that they do employ support on staff to prevent attrition.
  3. NG NCLEX support - During the Admitted Student Meeting, a nursing faculty member mentioned that the NCLEX will be adapted to new boards, Next Generation, that will emphasize clinical judgment, as of 2023, our graduating class. She assured that the Jefferson faculty have been tailoring their teaching towards the NGNCLEX.
  4. Brand New Capstone Program - Dr. Wenner, a nursing faculty member, touted this new three-week program that would align nursing students with respective preceptors in the community with a goal of easing them into jobs.

Overall, I like that TJU, as a school, is a healthcare enterprise with people in leadership positions all having medical backgrounds.

With all that said, I'm still terribly nervous about enrolling in a challenging and expensive program. But I hope this bit of information helps anyone in the process of applying or making a decision. I'm looking forward to meeting my classmates.

   Best wishes!

Hey, regarding the FB group, I'd love to communicate and meet with folks in the FACT 2022/3 cohort, but I'm not on FB and don't have any social media accounts (tho' I think allnurses counts as one?). Would it be possible to start a non-public board on here (allnurses.com)? If not, I will just have to meet y'all in person when the time comes. Good luck with everything in the meantime!
