Hey! I'm a current student in the accelerated program. If you cannot commit almost everyday to studying, you may want to go to a program that is longer than 12 months. Regardless of your background (liberal arts vs science, for example), you really need to put the effort in. I knew this when I signed up and am fine with it but I don't think everyone really thought about what they were getting in to. If you work more than 12-15 hours a month (yes, month) you end up hurting yourself academically. Having a family to look after is also extremely difficult.
If you can truly put your life on hold for one year and completely devote yourself to school, you can do a one year program. If you're trying to keep a part time job, be involved in your family's life, or have ample leisure time, I think you will be in over your head. Very few people have been able to balance these responsibilities with school in my class.
To give you an example, we had two pass/fail assessments yesterday, one today, a written exam tomorrow, and a written exam on Monday. I will be doing nothing this weekend other than studying, but like I said, I'm ok with it. Don't forget about the two online classes too!
Feel free to post questions but I'm not sure when I will write back.
My cohort met M-F the first sesmester. Fridays are usually optional but I strongly recommend you go. From what I've heard, the schedule may change since they plan to add a new cohort in April. Saturdays may be part of the schedule.
Missing a day of class is painful. If you miss an exam, the highest grade you can get is an 80, and remember, 78 is passing. If you miss a lecture, I feel like you need to put three times as much effort in to catch up... and if you're not a science major it's even harder. Now, if you miss a day of lecture, are you going to fail? Probably not as long as you put the effort in and make a friend to give you their notes. If you miss an exam though, I honestly don't know how that would work out.
Hi!!!
Has anyone been accepted to TESU Accelerated BSN for April 2018? I just was accepted yesterday and I can't wait to start me new journey.
The interview was about an hour long. I was nervous but then felt at ease when I was talking about my passion. They ask all the standard questions you can find online:
how did you hear about us? Strengths and weaknesses? How do you handle stress? Why do you want to become a nurse? Etc. they accepted my during the interview and I received my email later that day. Did you have your interview yet? What did the graduate tell you about program? I know it's intense!
Congrats!!! Not yet... I took the TEAS in July but they want me to retake because it's part of tutition. If you go to Atitesting.com you can find info about what's on it. It's a pretty basic exam. Let me know if you need help logging in.
I believe it's free. Don't pay for anything! It's not worth it.
