Thinking of traveling

Hello everyone,

I have recently began looking to a new job, and have been getting calls about travel nursing. I have no knowledge or second hand experience about this, and am looking for advice. How is the pay/benefits? What are good agencies? Is it worth it?

The company that called me was Nightengale, when I looked for reviews online, all I found was horror stories. Any advice or stories wold be set helpful. THanks!!

Rachel

Often people end up being unhappy with companies that spend a large part of their budget on marketing, no matter what the industry is. And every large company will have more unhappy employees than a smaller company, but not necessarily by percentage. But more numbers mean more complaints heard.

That said, Nightingale does collect more complaints online than similar sized companies. I actually had a chat with the founder last year, he called me about an article I had written. He is too far removed from the recruiting and marketing stuff to really talk about the negativity but it was mentioned. They have a business plan that works for them. No doubt that they have loyal travelers that have worked for them for years like every other agency.

As for the other stuff, did you want us to write you a book? Lurk here and on other traveler forums and you will get a lot of questions answered, many of which you didn't know were questions simply by doing a lot of reading. There are a number of traveler sites, I would recommend PanTravelers and TravelTax. And then there are lots of actual books on Amazon.
