thinking of going to LPN school with final of ASN.

I am trying to go to nursing school again. I first was accepted in 1977 and unfortunately was not able to continue. I have worked in multiple roles in hospitals, clinics , and care homes.

My concern is how much nursing school may have changed in this long of a time. I have recently checked with a community college, and their pre-healthcare certificate is over 30 credits. And this is before I could enter the lpn program.

I am 55 yrs old and would like to get into home health nursing or working in a clinic of some kind. I dont want fast paced, as I have experienced it already over the years.

I wonder if I am unrealistic, or if indeed I could manage to go to school again. Working pretty much full time will have to be an option.

I have been a unit secretary on several hospital floors, receptionist, CNA, LMNA (licensed medication nursing assistant) etc.

Hi! I can't imagine going to nursing school and working full time. However, my community college offers nights and weekends, so you could technically make classes. If you're a quick learner, and need little study time, you will probably be fine. However, A&P alone required 20 hours a week of studying for me, and most of my classmates. I think you should go for it, either way. If you don't try, you'll regret it later.
