The University of Tulsa (TU) ABSN

Published

Does anyone here have any experience with or know of anyone that has gone through the online ABSN program at the University of Tulsa? I haven't found any reviews so far and would like to know others opinions before applying.

Got accepted into the program and I start in August 2024. What about you?

I got accepted for the Fall semester as well. I have been looking online for students already in the program but I can't get a hold of anyone. Have you been told how many of your credits transferred and how long it will take you to finish the program?

Same! It's hard to look for anyone that started since it's a new program. The person I talked to told me that we will have those advising appointments a month before the program starts 😞 I'm really nervous about my credit transfers.

The credit evaluation should have been done immediately a student is accepted, so that the student knows what extra classes he or she needs to take. I also have a problem with the program being 18 to 24 months. That is too long for an ABSN.

I know usually ABSN programs are 12-18 months. I've also heard some of our credits may not be transferred and we may have to retake classes 😞 also she mentioned that it's taking a while since they were working on credit evaluations for Spring 2024 students.

From what I've been told, the length is longer than others because they want to allow people to work full time during the program.

Retaking classes won't be fun. Have you paid your $150 deposit?

That makes sense but there are other programs with the same model that are 15 months long. It's just that they are not approved in my state for clinical placement.

I did. Did you apply for fall 1 or 2?

I applied and got accepted for the fall 1 semester which begins in August. I am from Massachusetts.
