Has anyone taken the research class?? I am taking it next month. Any advice??

THanks

I am NOT looking forward to this one at all. I thought holistic health assessment was time consuming. This sounds much worse. :(

I haven't decided if I am going to take this or vulnerable populations next

Vulnerable populations sucks too. The assignments can be super time consuming and they're vague (as usual).

I need to take research next, but I'm changing jobs and I'm not sure how stupid of an idea it is to take it. But I'm sure there will never be a "good" time to take it.

That pretty much sums it up.

Research is one class that I strongly recommend you take alone, even if it pushes your graduation date back by 5 weeks. Trust me on this one...or if you don't trust me, read the Reserch threads in this forum for more info.

would you take vulnerable populations with something else then?

Honestly, I would not, at least not with another nursing or writing-intensive class. The sheer volume of grunt work and writing in Vulnerable Populations is mind-blowing. I think I killed a tree from that class alone. And to be working in the hopsital on top of that class...

How horrible of an idea is it to take research during a job switch? I'd be in training and on days for a while.

I'm suppose to start 11/4 research and holistic care of older adult, can be done??

It could be done...but I wouldn't do it myself. If you double-up with research, do so at your own risk.

The course is hard, but a great deal depends on how well the group works together. We all shared our cell phone numbers right away, and texted each other often. We all got along great and took it seriously. The work was hard but the group was a pleasure. Discuss your strenghts and weaknesses before electing a leader and splitting up the work. Communicate often. We walked away, happily, with a B

No, unless you don't work, don't take those two together. They are the two hardest courses in the program. Both very, VERY time consuming and trecherous!

I am starting this class 11/4/13 and I am praying for a good group. Thanks for all the tips.
