The University of Arizona - Master of Science for Entry to the Profession of Nursing (MEPN) Fall 2024

Recently got into the MEPN program for this upcoming fall which I'm super excited about! Just hoping to connect with some other students who got into the program and maybe help each other prepare for this coming fall!

OMG congrats!! I thought they did not start looking at applications until after the April 1 deadline.

also how did you prepare for the virtual behavioral interview?

Thank you! U of A College of Nursing just implemented a new direct admission program for current and future U of A alumni who meet the given eligibility requirements, so I was actually a direct admit! You are correct that they won't start looking at applications until after the April 1st deadline for regular applicants.

Regarding the interview, I would actually email a UACON admissions advisor to see if you even have to do it. They just removed the interview requirement for the BSN and BSN-IH programs at both the Tucson and Gilbert locations according to an email they sent out to students last week. I would imagine that they'll do the same for the MEPN programs as well but I'm not 100% sure.

It's great that you're reaching out the the AllNurses community about the MEPN program. Congrats for getting into the program, that's super exciting!

For those that are looking for interview tips, I recommend you review one of our AllNurses articles on common nursing interview questions: 16 Common Nursing School Interview Questions & Answers - Nursing Resources (allnurses.com)

Other general tips I'd recommend are the following:

  • Learn the STAR Method: It stands for Situation, Task, Action, and Result. It helps you tell your story clearly: what the situation was, what you needed to do, what you actually did, and how it all turned out.
  • Think About Your Experiences: Look back at times from past jobs, volunteer work, or school where you showed qualities like teamwork, empathy, or quick thinking. Maybe you had to deal with a tough situation, make a quick decision, or help calm someone down.

Best of luck in your interview process!

Hi, Following up as well— has anyone else heard from admissions as of yet?

My friend reached out to the admissions advisor since she is also waiting for a decision, and was told decisions are expected to be released next week.

Has anyone heard back yet?!

I haven't heard anything yet. Hoping they send out decisions today 😭
