Hey! I have my interview with UAB on July 8th. I think they usually spread them out a bit and do them in chunks. I don't remember exactly how many people they said they usually have apply, but I feel like it was at least a couple hundred?
And I think they said their interview was largely EI questions, though some clinical thrown in.

200 interviews wow. Isn't that a lot? Some sheet that I use said there was ~130 applicants total, didn't say how many interviews. What were your stats?
Most programs seem to interview about twice as many people as they admit, so would be ~100 here. But I don't recall what if any numbers of applicants and interviews they threw out in their info sessions so it definitely could be that many people. Usually seems like >200 apply, 70-100 interview, and admit 30-50 depending on the school. These programs are so popular these days.

The last few schools I've applied to between Fall and this cycle have all had more than 400 applicants, so it's only getting more competitive! That number was a rough estimate from someone in the program now, so not sure exactly how accurate but I was super surprised to hear that, as well! They also only interviewed over the course of five days last year (I believe), but hearing that there's interview days starting a week before all of ours is crazy. UAB is a stellar program regardless, and I'm thankful we're all getting an opportunity and excited to meet and interview with y'all!
Question for those that applied this year. I am on the path for CRNA school and trying to make a decision between HLTICU and CPCC at UAB for my ICU experience. Does anybody have any insight on these units and potential for CRNA acceptance with experience from these units? I've heard mixed reviews and just want to make the best decision for the future.

Ngl I haven't heard of either of these, but if it's a UAB unit I'm sure they'll love either. Can always just email them and ask.
I'm interviewing on Monday 7/7! I've been so curious to know how many candidates they're interviewing as well. I do know they plan to accept 65 students for this cohort so fingers crossed 🤞🏼
Anybody have any insight on how the set-up is/what all our morning will consist of since they said to expect to be there for at least 4 hours?

Good luck tomorrow! I'll be there the day after you. I don't know anything beyond what the email said, info session followed by interviews. Maybe a tour given the four hour time frame? Hope it goes well!

Haven't seen any forums for UAB's program. Anyone else receive their interview invite for July 15th? Hoping to see if anyone who previously interviewed or went through the program had any feedback/advice. Curious how many applicants they received this year and are interviewing. Sending out acceptances only a week or two after the interview seems like quite a quick turnaround.
