The truth about EAP Counseling

Has anyone ever used the employee assistance program? I will be using it and wondered if anyone has had negative/positive experiences? Is there anything I should watch out for?

I was an HR Manager before leaving to become a Pre-nursing student. I LOVED our EAP and can say that we never got any reports of who used it, who didn't etc. It is confidential and a wonderful resource. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again in the future, if need be.

I've used it in the past and it was helpful. I used it basically because I needed a referral from them to get my insurance to cover a certain counselor I wanted to see.

With my anxieties and fears I've been having lately about being a nurse, I think I'm going to call it up and use it. My only complaint is that it is stationed right in the hospital that I work with...so other employees can see you go into the entrance.
