The Hurricane shifted towards Orlando :(

Published

I am watching CNN and I see that the storm is hitting Orlando hard. I am hoping and praying for all of you especially since you guys weren't prepared for this kind of weather. I feel for all of you FLORIDIANS and especially for those of you unprepared. Please post and let us know your ok.

Last night was a little more rough than we were expecting. We did do a little preparation so we had water, batteries, etc. We lost power about 9:00 PM last night and thankfully we just got restored about 8:00 PM this evening. Such a small inconvenience compared to what so many others here are going through. My thoughts and prayers are going out to those who experienced damage to or lost their homes. Orlando sustained alot of damage from the wind and falling trees. Unfortunately several people lost their lives on the roads as well.

Keep all Floridians who were affected in your prayers...

hi all,

I'm from Ohio and was on vacation during Charlie. It was the most powerful and awesome thing I've ever experienced. My boys thought it was great, they were hanging out (with me of course) in the lobby of the hotel with everyone else. We were in the Fairfield Mariott across from Universal. 5th floor of course! I was scared to death!

My first hurricane. But it hasn't stopped me from planning on moving to Florida. It is a beautiful place and the people are wonderful. So different than up here in Ohio. People...ALL people, actually speak to each other there.

I'm so very sorry for the destruction and loss of life in your beautiful state. To watch the news was and still is so sad. But on the other hand, I can't wait to become a citizen of your state. We are planning our move now.

Any ideas on salary on the east coast of central florida? Planning on being in Titusville or Port St. John area.

I honestly can't wait to get back. My baby sister lives there with my two beautiful nieces, there's not much here in Ohio left for me.

:)

In response to your question about salary here in east central FL, I live in Titusville and am working on my pre-req's to get into nursing school (hopefully!!) but have already checked out the pay for the area hospitals and they are anywhere from $17 - 25 /hr to start depending on experience. All in all not bad when you consider there is no state tax to pay.

Good luck!

Wendy

I live just down the street from where you were staying...It was definitely an experience...Glad it didn't totally ruin your trip...sounds like the kids have a story to tell their friends...
