The Ethel Bauer school location in Phoenix kinda scares me.

I went their yesterday to visit the campus. Well it wasn't a campus. It was a building connected to RHB highschool with convient stores located on the sides. I didn't feel safe. The area kinda looked shady. Has anyone ever went to the Tucson location. What are your feelings about that location.

FYI, I not saying anything bad about their education. I'm just talking about the location. If I'm going to spend $27,000, I want to feel safe.

I understand what you are saying but, it's not like you will be living there! Are you from the Bay Area? It says your location is San Francisco....that isn't the safest place either. Im not planning on going to school there although I did check it out. Im just saying, don't judge it on where it is located, judge it based on facts about the program. I live in a decent area of Phoenix, but it doesn't mean there aren't crimes in my neighborhood.....Alot of colleges aren't in the best areas of town. I haven't heard of anyone getting "jumped" or shot at while in their classroom. Im not discrediting your feelings, just trying to be realistic.

It's cool. Yes I'm from San Francisco getting moved to Phoenix. The bay area is in now way safe. I used to Live in an area in SF named Richmond. That was a bad area. The school I saw yesterday in Phoenix kinda looked like Richmond in California. Have you been to that school and checked it out yourself.

Thanks

Yeah, Im from the North Bay....I am very familiar with Richmond. Knowing the area that EBSN is in I would not compare it to Richmond at all. It looks a little run down and the population over there seems to be mostly minorities....but what is that anyways? The once called minorities are like a majority now. It is what it is and most people who are here in Phoenix are just trying to make a living and feed their families. So, although the area seems sketchy I wouldn't read into it that much.

As far as me checking out the school, I did. I just wasnt ready to take on school in that capacity. I have young children and an ADN program just seems to intense for me, or it did at that time. Now, Im uncertain. Im enrolled in an LPN program right now and Im due to start in Oct. We will see what happens. What programs have you checked into and when are you moving here or have you moved?

I bet you miss the North Bay!!!!!!!!! The North Bay rocks. Except its cold majority of the time. Either it's too hot or to cold. Just got back to SF today and I plan to be back in Arizona in a week. EBSN charges 27,000 while Apollo Charges 43,000. Both are about 2 miles apart from each other. The building that Apollo retains looks great. But the price is what I'm looking at!!! $13,000 is a big difference. Your right, the program is intense.

I wonder if ESBN ADN Nursing Licsense can transfer back to California when I return.

Since you live in the area, I'll take your advise and keep an open mind and not judge the school by it's area.

On a personal note, do you miss Cali?

I totally miss California! I love my hometown I just outgrew it and man, is it expensive!!! We were just there for 10 days and my husband said if I really wanted to move back we could. But, my kids like it here and this is their home. Plus, the trade-off is not worth the high cost of living. We will always have a better life here.

Back to the school thing, I am considering Apollo and I am going to their info session. The main thing I liked there(and maybe I was misinformed)were the hours seemed shorter during the day than EBSN. Yeah, $16K is a big difference, so I will just have to make those comparisons with both schools and go with my gut. That's if I don't do the LPN first. Im leaning toward LPN but then, ya never know. I seem to talk myself into AND out of things all the time. Good luck with your move and school. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about AZ.....
