Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Hello,

My GPA is not the greatest. I am a returning student (after being out of school 20 + years). I have all my pre reqs "C" in A&P I, "A" in A&P II, "D" in Microbiology and I am retaking it . I was going to get a "C", but I didn't want that to lower my GPA even more, so I made myself get a "D". Now I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do.

My passion is to become a RN, I love helping people out, but i am afraid that I won't get accepted to the program. Does anyone have a similar story? Did you get accepted? Since I have my prereqs, the only thing I can see doing to better my chances is scoring a high score on the entrance exam. A bit discouraged because I am competing with people that have great GPA's. My GPA is sadly a 2.5 I wish I could turn back time and take school seriously.

Unfortunately, a 2.5 GPA is really not competitive, especially for nursing. You are not doomed though, because that 2.5 GPA can be erased if you were to start over at another school. In California, they want transcripts from all schools, so it isnt our choice to disclose grades or not. I would take them over. I would rather go in already a little versed and aim for a 4.0 this time!!! I have a 3.2 GPA and even that isnt all that competitive. There are thousands of potential RN students with 4.0's!! Thank God for Lotteries! I wish you the best!!!

Thank You Denise.
