Hey everyone, I recently completed the Adkins Academy and I was wondering have anyone else( recently) completed the academy? I have not taken my exam yet although I plan to within the next three days. The tuition for this academy is 1,000 dollars, I've read reviews on it but I'm making this post to see if anyone has taken it recently and how did they score.

I attempted the TEAS exam for the first time in March 2014. I had a lot going on personally, but still had purchased the ATI books/practice tests and put a fair amount of time into using them. I also used the Kaplan book. I had anticipated that my scores wouldn't be outstanding, but figured they'd be sufficient enough. I was wrong! I missed my school's required math score, and just barely met the others.

My school also only allowed a total of 2 attempts at the TEAS exam. Obviously I was under a LOT of pressure, and knew it was absolutely crucial for me to walk in prepared and confident in order to raise my scores. I searched endlessly online for various prep course options, and that's when I came across Adkins Academy for the first time.

I submitted an information request, and I was shocked that Dr. Adkin's called me personally not long afterwards-- in the evening time, after business hours. So I will admit that because of the late and quick personal phone call-- not to mention the steep ($1000) price tag-- I really thought I was being scammed at first! However I was desperate, had read many promising reviews, and appreciated that Dr. Adkin's was very thorough in answering all of my questions.I never felt pressured)! So luckily, in the end I made the right choice! IT WAS THE BEST $1000 I EVER SPENT! Honestly it is a lifesaver... IF you take the classes and information provided seriously! My scores increased so much more than I expected. In fact, the proctor for my exam even seemed surprised at how well I had done and congratulated me as I walked out! I remember feeling so relieved, and like I was on cloud nine.

Fast forward to today, and I am already graduating from my school's ADN program this Spring. I did not even hesitate to register for Dr. Adkin's NCLEX Prep course. I have been planning on using his NCLEX prep since before I even began nursing school, thanks to my experience with his TEAS program.

I'll share my own scores down below. If you're considering the Adkin's Academy, PLEASE do yourself a favor and go for it! You will not be sorry!!!

I want to take TEAS to exam next month but not sure what to study for science.I heard that science section is very difficult.

Has anyone taken Dr.Adkins course and passed ?

I would NOT recommend that at all. Why pay all of that money when you can literally go on YouTube for free. I watched a ton of YT videos that give real experience on how and what to use, I also searched on here( just type in TEAS 6 allnurses on google). On YT, I used math dude and Brandon craft for math, for English, Science, and reading I used Blossom with Jessica. I just watched all of their videos and wrote down all the topics to focus on then I studied that. After I felt confident, I looked online for practice questions (the ATI website has two) or I even went to my public library for TEAS 6 books.

What areas of the TEAS are you struggling with?

I took Adkins Academy TEA’s test course. The course really helped me prepare for the test. I learned a lot from the course and it also helped me feel more confident in the test. The course teaches me about the stuff that is presented on the test and how to figure out the types of questions. After taking my test after finishing the course my score improved. I would highly recommend taking this course to prepare to the TEA’s test.

I am thinking about using Dr. Adkins, for extra materials to pass my teas test. Have anyone taken him and pass the teas or is currently taken him now?

Hey all,

I am currently in Dr. Adkins classes, but I misplaced the packets that he gave us. Does anyone know if he will make me pay again for him to send them to me?

Dr.Adkins was a complete pleasure to work with. He pushes you to think even when I have no idea how to pick apart a question. In one month, I bumped my score up almost 20 points thanks to the class. It is not easy, especially during the Summer with a full time job to sit there for 4-6 hrs twice a week, but if you are disciplined enough to do it, the outcome is far beyond anything you would expect. My second try I scored a 95% in the reading and 87.5% in math. Never in my life have I EVER scored that high. Thank you for everything, Dr.Adkins. Worth every single shiny penny. Also, I see a lot of people worried about the price. You can take certain classes individually for about 100 a class. ALMOST EVERY QUESTION WE WENT OVER WAS SEEN ON THE TEST!!!

Great classes. Dr Adkins is very encouraging and amazing teacher. He cares about his students. You can call him or email him if you have any questions and he is very helpful. Classes are offered online, pay attention to him and his valuable information, and you learn.

I believe the course is not expensive with what you get. You can retake the classes if you want until you feel comfortable that you know. You can't find this feature at any other courses or online testing packages that most of them as I know has a limited time to access! The other good thing at his class and he engages and challenges you by asking questions by calling your name. It is good for someone esp like me who can get distracted at online classes.

I did Adkin's Academy prep and did not get the desired score even with reviewing on my own. I felt so discouraged. I wish I can get my money back but I guess that's not an option either.

Hello all I have taken the Adkins TEAS test course and completed it, and I have to say it was well worth it. so far from the overall feel of the comments I feel as though most are hesitant to take the class due to the tuition cost, however I can say that the classes and Dr. Adkins explanations are worth it. to put it in perspective my first go around when taking the TEAS exam I scored a 61, I was not even in the average bracket of test scores. however once I started taking his classes for about a month before I had to re-test I was able to bump my score up to a 70, mind you this was only with a month of classes and some dedication to studying. Now you might be thinking that well a 70 is not even the greatest grade and I would agree with you and that is why I asked Dr. Adkins if I could continue to take the classes until I could test again and get the score I truly desired and he gladly agreed. I feel that this is one of the most reassuring parts about working with Dr. Adkins he really cares and wants you to succeed and at no cost. even though I took many of the classes 2 to 3 times over I was not charged again after the initial tuition. luckily I was able to get into my schools nursing program and I owe all the thanks to Dr. Adkins! I promise the class is well worth it and you will see results.

AlI have to say and everyone knows this. You get what you pay for. In this, I mean, you study with substandard methods, or you learn with masters. I'm afraid I have to disagree that Dr. Atkins is not worth the fee. First of all, it's forever. You can take his classes, call him, text him and email him with anything forever. Just right there, the fee is worth having his expertise and test-taking knowledge on call. What facility does that? Secondly, it is not so much the material, but the breakdown of how these exams trick you into failing. Knowing how to analyze these questions with hardly any work or wasted time is a second factor why he is worth the fee. Lastly, yes, he teaches a lot of information, but that's because he goes far and beyond, so we understand the process of why which is a solid character to have, especially in nursing. He teaches us to apply our knowledge and to be able to dissect these questions in seconds flat with time to spare. I wouldn't be cheap on my knowledge because it makes you not only get into a program but an outstanding clinician.
