I am a RN on a very busy 27-bed Med/Surg unit. I want to thank all those hard working Nurse Assistants for their guts, courage, empathy, emotional strength, physical strength, compassion, and professionalism. Without you my jobs as an RN would be next to impossible. Thank you so much for bathing my patients, turning them, providing skin care, taking vital signs and alerting me of potential life and death situatons, for providing post-mortum care, and so much more. Often as Nurse Assistants we RN's have a tendency to forget to thank you. I will have been working without an aide for a couple of days because we are short staffed and I need you CNA's to return. Its hard without you guys! Keep up the good work

Thats really nice of you, abbaking! I see so many threads from RNs who go on and on about how lazy and incompetent their CNA's or LNA's are and its really discouraging...

its great to hear that you appreciate all the hard work your aides do for you!! :nuke:

You're welcome! I always try to help my nurses with anything they need, even if I'm not assigned to that patient (you need post-transfusion vitals? help pulling a pt up? I'm on it!)

We work a busy 28-bed M/S floor, and we were full to the brim last night, with just two CNAs. My nurses were great! They always helped me turn, pull, clean patients, and even helped me with vitals. Once or twice, they would come up to me and say "Mrs. So-and-so in Room XXX was on the bedpan, she had a small bowel movement," and I would look up at them and it wasn't even their patient! I felt so appreciated. We have such a great team.

You guys are great! Seriously, we couldn't do our jobs without you. I love working as a team and jump in to help clean up patients, etc., but I know you guys get stuck with a lot--so thanks! I was a CNA first and it was really beneficial to have that background before I became a nurse.

Wow! Thats really nice of you to say! Thanks for saying such great things about CNA's :)
