And I have considered that maybe she doesn't want people emailing her during the phone interview process if she didn't offer contact info ....but on the other hand, you have to be a go getter in this field and sometimes pursue the employer ....appropriately of course. I have no problem following up by phone if I don't hear back in a reasonable time frame (but hopefully I will!!) , just wasn't sure about the interim post phone interview. I just want to to stand out!
I was in the same situation as you. I did not get the e-mail address of the nurse manager that I interviewed with; I only had the nurse recruiter's. I surfed the web to try and figure out what her e-mail would have been based on how that hospital assigns them, and found a match. Sent her an e-mail, and I got hired!
So, I would send a thank you letter to her e-mail if you know it. And typically it is done within the first 24 hours, but preferably a couple hours after the interview to remind them while you are still fresh on their mind. Definitely do call them if you don't hear back within a couple weeks.
Well ....phone interviews ended Thursday....haven't heard anything yet about an in person interview .... I know it's only been 2 business days but with the weekend added in it feels like longer! I'm wondering now also if the NM or HR are even at work on MLK day ...hoping to hear back soon!

Interviewed on the phone as a preliminary thing with an HR recruiter. Obviously I want to be selected to meet with the hiring manager. Thinking about sending a thank you email as my last "sales pitch". Thing is, she didn't actually give me her email. BUT, prior to the phone interview I had missed a call from her after having left a message on the HR voicemail (you leave a message and they get back to you...you dont immediately reach a person when you contact this HR dpt) telling me I'd receive a call soon to schedule the interview so I found her email and just let her know I got the voicemail and thanked her for getting back to me and looked forward to hearing from so and so to schedule the phone interview. I really want this position and am not just throwing out applications so I guess I just wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation for a phone interview.
But I'm not sure if it's appropriate to email my thank you note at this point if she didn't actually give me her email during the phone interview. It'd be different if it was an in person one and I could ask for a business card ...and usually in person interviewers will tell you to contact them with questions and give you their info.
Would it be appropriate to send a thank you note by mail? The hospital is right up the street from me. Yay or nay? And if so, when? Phone interviews will conclude 2 days from now so do it immediately or wait? Thanks! It's just weird knowing what to do when I have her email but wasn't personally given it.
