Hello all! I didn't see a thread for the TWU CRNA class starting in 2025, so I wanted to start one! Feel free to share stats & ask questions!

I wanted to get on here and post to let you know I'm here for any questions you may have. Classes are very busy right now, but I will try to check regularly for questions and answer as best as possible. Good luck everyone!

Thank you! And congrats to starting your program! I was wondering if you knew which clinical sites you were going to be at by your interview.

I applied Friday and got an interview invite today in case anyone was wondering about how soon they would hear back!

What is your opinion on best preparing for the interview? Reviewing CCRN material? YouTube videos? Pharmacology? Currently taking biochem for the science requirement so I'm trying to see what else I need to add on.
Thanks for taking time out of your already hectic schedule to help us out!

Thank you! Unfortunately, you do not. For interviews sometimes your email invite will say "...you qualify for an interview for the ____ clinical site", or you will get a general email saying you have an interview and there isn't a specific site. Regardless of which email you get, be on your A game and make sure you make a lasting first impression because even though it might not specify for __ clinical site, you're still interviewing for your top choice(s). Once you receive an acceptance call/email, they will specify which clinical site you received.

You're welcome! My interview experience was a little different than others but I have lots of stories if you need more. There was an ice storm last year which moved my interview to a zoom call instead of in person. However, I'd say 95% of my class had to be in person for interviews. Interviews are group interviews (at least 2 students, and 2-3 interviewers whether they are professors, clinical coordinators, etc.). Although my interview was on zoom it was still nerve-wracking. They know that everyone is nervous though so don't worry about that. Everyone was very friendly and they want you to do well in your interview so they can see you in the fall! 🙂

Of course! It's stressful as it is so anything I can do to help 🙂 I have heard different things from my peers who interviewed regarding their interview questions compared to mine. As horrible of an answer as it is....I'd be prepared for anything...My classmates and I had a variety of different interviews and questions were similar but styles were different at the same time.
I recommend knowing which types of patients you take care of regularly and understanding what is occurring down to the cellular level with those patients. I also recommend knowing which drugs you use on a daily basis and regularly in your ICU...again, down to the cellular level. I would suggest that you think about clinical questions as well as emotional intelligence questions they could ask you. Also, remember, anything you bring up in your interview is fair game. So, if you bring up CRRT, you better know the ins and outs of what you are doing down to a cellular level 🙂 The last thing I will say about preparing for the interview..PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. I cannot stress this enough. You should have your SO, mom/dad, brother/sister, coworker, or your dog listen to you while you practice interviewing or answering questions. You don't want to show up on interview day stumbling over your words. Even if you don't know which questions they are going to ask, you can still practice your delivery. Hope this helps a little! I know it's very vague but interviews vary from person to person depending on who is interviewing them.
Also, just a side note for everyone who hasn't heard back on interviews or is stressing about submitting their application and not hearing back right away....Just keep in mind that I was one of the people who submitted my application on the deadline to ensure everything was up to par, and I received my invite mid-November. I know it's easier said than done but try not to stress! 🙂 Submit that application and go celebrate because you're one step closer!
For those that already received interview email, do they send you an email to activate a school account?

I have not received an email to activate that account yet!

I am pretty sure they don't send any information regarding activating a student account unless you get accepted into the program. I didn't even receive info until 3 months after I was accepted.
