Hi all,
I just received my acceptence letter yesterday afternoon for the Fall 2017 cohort at Gayle Grieve. I just wanted to start a chat to help us share information for those of you who also were accepted!
Congratulations, can't wait to meet you guys!
No I have not taken it yet. I have been researching the best study materials or looking for a HESI PREP course. I do not have a ton of volunteer hours, but I can start searching for those opportunities also. I'm sure that will also help me network so that I can get some solid letters of recommendation.(great idea btw!)
I do have some active duty military time, maybe that will help me make up for my GPA. I have some experience as a CNA also. This has been one of the only post I could find where everyone didn't have a 3.9 or above! I am very excited to have found this one! Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you for your service, it's greatly appreciated! EPCC has a wonderful hands on clinic in which you can volunteer, also the elsevier study guide is the one I used, very very helpful when it comes to the HESI.
I'm sure your CNA experience as well as military background will definitely help you. They are looking for individuals who are successful in school while still mainiting a career and life. This program being as intense as it is demands students who can handle a very full plate. Start thinking about why you want to do this, sincerely, and when it comes time to apply use your personal statement wisely, as this is your first chance for them to get an idea of who you are before they ever get to meet you. I wrote a very honest and outright personal essay that I felt gave them a really good idea of who I am.
Hi there, I've lived on the east side my entire life and its extremely extremely safe. It's the part of town that is newly developed and really nice. El Paso in general is very very safe, the west side is very nice but extremely expensive and also much older part of town. All the apartments on the west side of town tend to be old and outdated. I would look at the east side, lots of new nice apartments, I lived at some apartments off bob hope called Las Mansiones and it was very nice.
