Wanting to Move to Dallas

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I am a nursing student but I know for a fact that I will be moving to Dallas. I live in Arkansas but I want to give my dad a place to visit when he retires(and I also want to get away from home and the small city) My fiance and I have been looking for places that are close to Dallas but not in Dallas( the crime and all of that aren't very appealing) What are some of the palces I could check out- as far as buying a house or at least renting an apartment for my first year or so their. I want to be close to Dallas Children's Hospital. Put it like this- Where is a nice place to live and raise kids but still be close(30 minutes or so ) to Dallas- I prefer the suburbs. Thanks in advance!!

Specializes in ICU, ER, HH, NICU, now FNP.
I don't believe that the Light Rail passes by the hospital, but I'm sure that there is a bus that runs past through there

Actually the rail stops right in front of children's - the TRE stops there as it leaves downtown on it's way over to Irving.

Gauge14IV...Thanks for the info. I had often wondered if the DART train stopped near Parkland (I have never been on a DART train or bus). I live in Irving...do you happen to know how long the ride is from Children's / Parkland to Irving?

From Parkland/Childrens - to East Irving about 10 min, to West Irving about 15 min.

You get off the train and cross the street and you are there!

Medical/Market Center is the apx stop - although I'm not precisely sure about that.
