LVN refresher/ LVN to RN HELP

Published

I graduated from an LVN course in California in October 2006. I just took my NCLEX this March for the first time and passed. I applied for Texas endorsement and received my temporary license.

The problem I am having is that all the colleges offering an LVN to RN program require that you either have graduated within one year or have at least a year of experience OR complete a refresher program.

San Antonio College's online site falsely advertised having a LVN refresher course available ( http://www.accd.edu/sAC/ce/nursing.html ) . When I went to inquire about the course they looked at me like I was crazy and told me know such thing existed for LVN's, they only have a refresher for RN's. Further more, they were unaware of any schools offering an LVN refresher.

I need to get the refresher done before September to qualify for Spring 2010 admission.

I have ALL of my associate pre-requisites done and most of my bachelor pre-requisites. This refresher is the only thing holding me back.

So it seems the only option I have is to get a full-time job as an LVN and wait a whole year before applying for the RN program.

Any advise/help?
