I'm particularly interested in attending Houston Baptist University's nursing program because of the location and class sizes. As much as I think it'd be great to attend a prestigious program, I always thought that if you are a nurse, you're a nurse. How do potential employers view smaller "no name" schools versus a well known program?? I'm afraid as a fresh grad it would be too difficult for me to get a job, especially if it matters. Thanks!

It only really matters as a new grad and seems to be area specific, for example in Austin employers tend to prefer ACC RN grads over UT RN grads, but I highly doubt employers in Houston or Dallas would care, they'd just want experience

Definitely not an expert, but this is what I was told at my school's orientation.
One of the more experienced students (graduated this December) was hired to work at Memorial Hermann in the Houston Med Center. Out of the all the applicants in her group interview, she was the only one hired. She beat out all of the BSN nurses with an ADN degree.
My school is one of the top ten in the state of Texas.
All that to say......your school might have an outcome on your future job possibilities and then it might not.
