Texas NPs

Texas NPs, pleasee has any of you completed a post MSN certificate online if so which one?? Really desperate to find one. On the Texas Board of Nursing website, it was stated that MSN programs should be at least one year in length, does that apply to post MSN certificates? Does any one know? I sent email to verify, noone has replied!

I'm a Texan and I recently finished a post-master's PMHNP program but can't get licensed in TX because they require 400 hrs of advanced practice clinical in the last 2 years. I only needed 320 more hours on top of an earlier psych CNS program. Course I now have more hours total in both clinical and credit hours than any TX NP program. That's ok, New Mexico gave me an advanced practice license in 8 business days and even called me personally to let me know it had been issued. Notice to all boards of nursing: New Mexico is your role model! I'm heading there in a couple days.

I turned down a job in Oklahoma because it would take 3 weeks for a background check, then you apply for your non-compact RN license which would take a minimum of 4 weeks, then you apply for your NP license. OKlahoma, are you a bunch of jokers :jester:

My program was Rush University and it was 26 more hours I believe. I'm traveling and don't have transcript with me.

I am a Texas NP -I don't know the answer to your question, but I will agree the Texas BON is not very NP friendly. In my experience it takes many phone calss and e-mails to get an answer. Persistence is key here.
