Texas Health July 2017 Residency

Published

Does anyone know when Texas Health Resources will open up their application for their Graduate Nurse Residency program for July 2017?

Has anyone worked in the ICU for any of the THR facilities? If so, where at and what are some pros/cons?

Thank you :)

anyone heard back about interviews? A friend has one for med surg plano but that's all I know of. I have applications in review for neuro ICU, float pool, and womens services at Ft Worth but have not seen further progress.

Has anyone heard what the pay is at THR? I know they recently did a $1 market increase for staff nurses, but I am not sure if that applies to the GN residents.

their pay is competitive and market value for new grads, so same as almost every other hospital pay in the Dallas area is generally $21-$25 for starting new grads if a hospital is lower they usually give a raise at the end of the residency to bring you up to market

Havent heard anything today, just a few applications in review... Hopefully we hear something soon. I looked through last years July cohort forum on allnurses and it looked like they started getting offers sometime in March but they also opened up the GN positions earlier, like in January I believe.

They would need to increase their pay to be competitive the offer I have a UTSW is for $28.06 base pay. $6 night diff and $5 weekend

A classmate of mine is a Tech at UTSW and she is going to be on med surg starting at 25-something, but that's with a ADN. I would think BSN and specialty floors pay slightly more for GN....I could be wrong

I'm ADN also and the pay is the same for BSN also and same for each unit. I would be working in the epilepsy monitoring unit / acute stroke which I'm a tech on now

I wouldn't count on any pay difference between an ADN and a BSN. The only difference is that an ADN will be required to complete their BSN within 2 years of hire date at most larger hospitals.

I also work on a stroke unit, etravis9311!

What a coincidence.... I'm studying for my stroke (neuro/seizures/critical care) exam right now í ½í¸‚ You guys would probably ace this one!

I'm gonna guess my status is gonna stay in considering and I'm not gonna get hired

Think positively. Literally no one I know has been asked for an interview yet. Ill admit though that I do feel like Ill be pushed to the back of the list, since Im an ADN. I just want a job! Haha. Anyone else here have a family?
