Texas Christian University DNP - Fall 23

Published

Hello! I didn't see a board for this so I am starting one. I applied to the full-time DNP PMHNP program.

I got an interview invite last week from TCU for the PMHNP DNP track and will be interviewing here shortly.

I have an interview next week and I am nervous as all get out! Would you be willing to share some tips? What kind of questions did they ask? How do you like the program? Any advice helps. Thanks ☺️

Hey. I got accepted however decided to go with another school so I cannot tell you how the program is. On another note, for interview questions...  I don't remember. But you should know how to answer all of the questions listed below.

1. Tell me about yourself

2. Strengths and weaknesses

3. Why PMHNP

4. How can you contribute or what can you contribute

5. What do you see yourself doing after graduation

6. What is a nurse practitioner?

7. Why DNP and not MSN program?

8. Why our program?

9. How do you handle problematic patients or co-workers?

10. How do you handle stressful situations?

11. A clinical scenario.…

hello, what made you not decide to go with TCU's PMHNP program? Also what school did you end up going to? Please feel free to  direct message me if you want to reply there instead of here.

I ultimately attended UTHSC's dual concentration FNP/PMH DNP program.

Reasons:

1. Same timeline - 3 yrs.

2. Cheaper tuition - public school - more scholarships available

3. Two Doctorates: One in FNP for generalized practice and the other in PMH for Psych

4. Diversity
