Does anyone know when applications for the fall 2023 cohort for Texas Children's Residency program opens or how to get in contact with a recruiter? I can't find information anywhere else online.

I ended up applying under the 1 yr experience RN position even though I was still in the middle of Cincinnati Childrens nurse residency program. They are just having me do 6-8 weeks of orientation instead of the full nurse residency program.

I applied for the PICU as an experienced RN so I'm not sure about the residency program. It sounds like those are the only units they are hiring new grads for right now but I would just apply and talk to the recruiter about which unit you want.

I believe base rate is in the ballpark of $33/hr plus all of your shift differential. I heard that the critical care units at the main medical center get an extra $12/hr of critical care pay but I think you have to have a least a year of experience to qualify for that.

I applied like the day the application opened

You don't have to have 1 year experience to get the extra 12/hr. But the base rate is $33.00 plus the 12/hr extra for CICU. I think they up your pay after you're off of orientation to 34.00 or 35.00 base

Does PICU get critical care pay? Does anyone know what units qualify for it?

I got an email and set up a phone interview with just the recruiter. Then I interviewed with the PICU leadership and educators via Microsoft Teams.
