texas board : NCLEX takers must have worked within 4 years of application date. Does teaching in a nursing institution qualify?qualify

Published

Greetings to all,

I am a nurse in Nepal. I recently received my CES for texas. Texas has a rule that " the candidate must have been worked within 4 years of applying to the board" . but it doesnt mention what sort of experience is needed?

My last experience working in a hospital was may of 2017. SInce 2019 I have been working a lecturer in a nursing teaching institution.

I am really worried whether there will be problems in my application. Will my experience count as valid ?

Please help me.

Thanks

If it doesn't specify the environment then you should be alright. Also, I would think it's OK since nursing education counts as CEUs in most, if not all, states.

Thank you NurseBlaq  for your reply. I am just hoping this works out.

Please any more suggestions and advice would be really helpful to me.

Have you tried contacting the BON to ask them directly? I think that will help if you actually speak to someone and explain the situation and tell them what you've done. If they say you need to work as a nurse, I would suggest getting a PRN job. That way you're still technically working, just not a full time gig.

hello NurseBlaq . Thank you for your suggestion.
