Anyone else applying this year? Do you know if they will send out acceptance letters at the same time as last year? I applied for Fall 2020, but haven't been able to take the TEAS due to Covid. I hope they will still accept me. I have a 3.7 GPA All A's except a B in A&P II in the nursing support classes. I've even made an A in Organic Chemistry and Calculus. Those classes aren't even needed, but they might make me competitive.

Hi Alysha I'm sure you will get in with those stats I am scheduled to take the HESI at the end of the month. Do you have a degree from Tamuc? I have A's and B's in my pre reqs. I am unsure on whether or not I will be competitive enough. I have my bachelor's degree from TAMU in Health. I currently work as a Medical Assistant. I hope we will still be considered despite not having a chance to take the HESI/TEAS before pandemic. I saw last year they found out around June 8th. I believe we will either find out by this Friday or next Wednesday or Friday. I am anxious to find out I have applied to other schools as well.
I found out that they are sending out acceptance emails next week. I don't have a Bachelor's degree, but I'm classified as a senior.
Alyssa I am so glad you emailed her I wanted to ask so bad I bet we’ll find out next Wednesday or Thursday. I am nervous ? to find out. I am taking the HESI at the end of the month. Do you attend Tamu Commerce? I’m sure you’ll get in I’m not sure ? I will get in. All we can do is pray now it is out of our hands.
Raven,
Where are you able to take the HESI? I haven't found a school that is taking appointments yet. I've email NTCC and Texas A&M-Commerce weekly. I really would like one scheduled soon. I feel ready for it. At least we've had time to study.
Also I am taking classes at Commerce this Summer. I'm currently in Ethics and I'm taking Nutrition (not required) in Summer II for financial aid reasons.
If I don't get in, is there any benefits to obtaining a Bachelor's degree in another field? I can get a BS in Learning and Technology by Fall of next year if I want. However, I worry about financial aide. Loans don't scare me however and you can get those with having a Bachelor's degree. Or should I take Sociology, Patho and Pharmacology in the Fall at UTA (Which I should still be enrolled since I took classes in the Spring) and apply to UTA and Texas A&M Commerce in the Fall of 2021?
I honestly believe you are competitive enough to get into any program you apply to with your GPA. I am taking the HESI at Lonestar community college in Houston. They are offering it online through ProctorU. Also Tamucc is offering the HESI online as well through ProctorU. I know TWU in Houston/Dallas are offering the TEAS online as well through July. Also, I heard Texas Lutheran is offering it online as well through the Summer. If I were you I would take the HESI its not as complex as the TEAS so I've heard. I received my Bachelor's in Health and I am grateful I did however the jobs were I live are not plentiful unless you work at the University or for the Hospital. I honestly think you could also get into UTA I would apply if you have taken the necessary classes to apply. I believe having a degree is essential for accelerated nursing programs however,I believe going for your BSN is the ultimate goal. I would get a Bachelors in a health related field if you were unable to get into a BSN program right away. I have loans from my bachelors degree and I will have loans for my second bachelors degree. However, if your not working I would look into the workforce helping you pay for your nursing degree. I pray we both get in I believe we will find out next Wednesday-Friday! Please post on here if you hear something! if we both get in I hope we can connect when I move closer to DFW!? I find out about to schools next week prayfully it doesn't end in disappointment. I am planning to apply to a few schools. Is Commerce the only school you applied to?
I would wait to find out about Commerce I am sure you will get in also have backups just in case its always good to cover all of your bases. I believe you have a chance to get into UTA as well but just wait to find out from Commerce but get everything ready for UTA in the meantime.

Yeah, Commerce was the only school I applied to. If I don't get in, I'm thinking about going ahead and just getting my Bachelor's degree in the other field, so I can take some time off. I really want one last baby and if I don't get in then I will go ahead and try for my last and take the few courses I have left in the other degree. I really didn't want a large age gap anyways. I'll apply one more time in a year or so. If I don't get in again, I will go for my Master's in education. I really ultimately want a job that's flexible around my children's schedules. I highly value medicine and education. I would love to eventually become a nurse educator. My passion is for midwifery and I plan on obtaining a Master's degree one way or another.
Alyssa, I believe you have a great plan! I pray you get in this year. I plan to have children hopefully soon after I graduate. I love children I plan to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and eventually get my DNP so that I can teach other nurses. I have a passion for teaching nursing as well. I really want to get in either this year for fall or Spring admittance. I am getting older and my fiancé wants us to start our lives together. He wants to travel I have been in school for years and it’s time to go after my passion which is nursing. We both had a tough year we lost one of our parents within months of each other. I really just want to make a difference in the lives of others. I pray both of our hard work pays off. I am just nervous ? to find out. I would like to know how many people applied this cycle. I know 60 people will be accepted out of a possible 200 applicants.
