Test questions for nclex-pn

Published

Hi everyone I'm getting ready to take my nclex pn for the fourth time. Now I'm concerned on how to answer the questions that ask what topic should I discuss when giving a seminar regarding congestive heart failure?? All the answers given are related to congestive heart failure, so which answer is correct??? I had several questions like this in my last test. Has anyone encountered these type of questions???

Hello Maricela! I have recently taken and passed my NCLEX PN on my first try with 85 questions, unfortunately I have no input on your question about CHF, I used SAFETY as my priority everytime I picked an answer. I always tried to bear in mind to keep my patient safe when I picked out answers whether it's teaching, priority questions, etc. I hope this helps somehow, Goodluck !

Bear in mind that I am still awaiting my results from the NCLEX-PN, so I am not an "expert". However, with those questions I remember the key phrase "most important". The test may not say that. It may just ask what would you teach and all the choices are truly what you would teach. However, think which item is most important for you to teach. That is how I approached those questions. HTH.

Hi Everyone,

I need some advice. I'm about to schedule my nclex - pn for the 3rd time and I'm so nervous. The last time I took it was December 6, 2014 and I used saunders, Lippincott pn. Please help me with names of books and programs that might be helpful. I don't have a job now and want to pass this so bad.

Thank you!!!

Hello, try NCSBN learning extension program and exam cram (I've only tried questions from NCSBN). Also maybe Kaplan test taking strategies (usually can be borrowed from the local library) would help. Good luck to you and I wish you well! Oh and there's some study guides on here that I felt may help also. :D

Thanks babyisa! I will definitely try them

You're welcome future nurse! You got this! I can send you the study guides if you're unable to find them. With the NCSBN learning extension, I heard the content is great as well ( i didn't have to time to go though them), but for me the questions were definitely critical thinking in nature. Remember to try to relax (i know, easier said than done) and take breaks when you feel like you're losing momentum or concentration. And don't freak out if the test doesn't stop at 85! If anything that means you're still in the game and have a chance to do better and redeem yourself. Know lab values, basic medications, diets, PPE, infection control and just overall safety of the patient. I will be praying for you! Let me know if I can help!

I will be taking my exam soon too. for those who already taken their exam, did u encounter a lot of prioritizing questions? And for those who used the nclex pn 3000 dover did it help?

@ babyisa, if you can send the information to me that would be great! I told myself that I was the holidays off and start over this week. I am planning and paying Pearson vue next month so I know that I will have a good 12 weeks to review the materials and do some questions. Thanks in advance for all your help!!

cherrybee, I had a lot of delegation and prioritizing.
