I am going to orientation this Wednesday for the LPN program at TTC in Nashville that starts on May 3rd! I originally was preparing to go in September, but after I took the COMPASS test, I got a call from the school asking me if I was interested in starting in May! The only thing that I have left to get done before May 13th is the medical form. If there is anyone else out there that is going to the same school....where did you get all of your medical requirements taken care of? I'm asking because I don't have health insurance right now and I'm trying to find a place that will do all of it for a fairly low price!
Also, if anyone has been through the program at Tennessee Technology Center feel free to reply and tell how it went! I know that it is going to be hard but I am so ready! I have been a CNT since 2007 and am ready to be able to do more things in the medical field!
Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! :)

Hey! So I'm in the exact same situation as you are. I wasn't going to start until September, but got a call to start in May. It was exciting but also frustrating since my finals for college were scheduled the same week as class starts. So, I'm getting those out of the way this week.
About the medical requirements: I just finished getting all of mine done. I went to the health departments to get them all. I do have private insurance, but getting an appointment on short notice wasn't happening. I know because I had private insurance I had to pay for my tests and things. I think the TB's were around $10 each and the Titers were about $30. So, they were definitely affordable! Hope that helps!
Maybe we will run into each other tomorrow at the orientation! I will be there too :)
I'm Jena by the way.
Thanks for replying!!! I will check out the health departments for all of the medical requirements. I just didn't want to do that until I figured out about my financial aid! I'm nervous about whether or not I will get enough financial aid to cover school but hopefully it will work out! Other than that, I'm so excited!!! I have been a CNT for several years and am so ready to become a nurse!!! :)
My name is Mattie and maybe I will see you tomorrow!
Oh one more question....which health departments did you go to for the medical stuff? I don't want to go to the wrong one!!!!!! Thanks!!!

If you need help with money for school then you should definatly check into Work Force Essencials. I go to TTC-Dickson and they are paying for everything that the lottery scholarship didn't pay for. It is based on your income. They will pay for your Malpratice insurance, 2 sets of any color scrubs, 2 sets of white scrubs, 2 white lab jackets, 1 pair of white leather shoes, a watch, BP cuff, and your steth. They are funded by stimulas money and I think will pay for programs that are less than 18 months if you qualify. You may have already heard of them but just in case you havn't, you should look into them.
Thanks for the info. My financial aid ended up covering the whole program and I started classes last Tuesday! :)
