Specializes in progressive care, cardiac step-down.
I am a fairly new RN, having worked just under a year on a telemetry unit. Recently, my unit was re-designated as progressive care. Whenever people ask me what that means, I say "too sick for med-surg, not sick enough for ICU". Is this an accurate assessment? Anyone working on a PCU have any knowledge to share? I'm afraid that "progressive care" is just another term for psych unit/dumping ground!
