TEAS V

Published

Hi everyone! :)

I am new to this forum, and hoping someone can help me

I just took the TEAS V and I don't feel that I did that wonderful. I did get the practice test, and booklet. The odd thing was I usually get a 90 and above on reading, and I did in the practice tests, but somehow on the test I just got too nervous and messed myself up. So the subjects I thought would be really high to compensate for my weaker ones, ended up being average. However, my percentile rank for national is still high at 77, and my rank for my program (LPN) is at 92???

I thought they had to be just counting my school or my area, because how could a 73 be in the 92 percentile. I see that the average for my program is now at 55%, but still this is all very confusing. It also says that I ranked 94 nationally in science with a adjusted individual score of 77.1%. So I don't think it's a mistake or anything, because all the numbers are consistent.

I am just trying to figure out if I stand a good chance getting in. It would make more sense if the 92 rank was out of a specific area or school, rather than LPNs all over the country.

My school requires a "minimum" of 70 for LPN and a 3.25 in competitive GPA classes. So I'd be right on the line with TEAS, but my GPA in the competitive classes is 3.8, overall 3.6.

Here are my results Help!

Adjusted Individual Total Score 73.3%

Mean National- 63.3%

Mean Program- 55.5%

Percentile Rank-National 77

Percentile Rank-Program 92

If anyone could please help me determine my specific scores, I'd really appreciate it!!!

Thank you! :)

the adjusted individual total score of 73.3% is your score, but it will be best to check with your school to know what specifically they consider for their program.

Thank you!

Yes, they require a 70 minimum with the TEAS, but I've heard that the TEAS V is much harder. That's why I was so confused when I scored in the 92 percentile for program rank with only a 73.3.

If I'm really somehow in the 92 percentile for the program, then I stand a chance.

It is very confusing on what they are counting as Percentile Rank "Program", my area? my school???

If this is correct, that means a score of 73.3% would be in the top 92%, or only 8 people who took the test in my "program" scored a 73.3 or above, but the average mean listed is 55.6% for the program, so maybe that is correct. It is confusing.

Jenni my question is the same it seems compared to the Teas 4 this test is much harder but it all depends on how the selection commitees' look at it...I am in the same postion as you I scored a 79.3% which puts me in the 90% for the program in my school and 89% in the nation...it also reads that my readiness level for nursing is Advanced but all that means nothing if the school of your choice doesnt see it that way. Im like you and thinking I know in the program I scored in the top 10% or your case top 8% that is my only solice except my school is also taking Teas 4 scores which to me is unfair since looking at the percents the Teas V is much harder so to judge me against a person with even an 82% on the Teas 4 is unfair because my test was obviously a degree of difficultly harder. I hope we both get in our programs♥♥♥

I'm so scared I take the test this Friday I gave a 4.0 i have read the ati book over and over did the back of the book tests with ease but I bought the online practice test and I am bummEd out as this is my last and second chance to take it so I have to deal well I keep hearing peoPle say there was stuff not covered in the book on it but when I call ati they say it's the only bOok i need I'm freaking out

i take the test on friday to i am so nervous i did the same thing i went over and over the book and still dont do that well on the practice test but i guess we will see how it goes on friday good luck to you i hope that you do well

I hope you guys are using the TEAS V Study guide because the Teas 4.0 and V are two toatally different tests. The TEas V seems to give people a much harder time as a matter of fact 90% achive a 85 on Teas 4.0 as a composite score but only 79.3 achive the same on the TEAS V...as a matter of fact an 85% on the TEAS V would put you in the 97% tile of all test takers in the nation.

This test was pretty hard, I also scored low on the reading section which is usually my strongest area. Make sure to really go through the TEAS V manual and you will probably still have a hard time, but should get by with a passable grade. I got an 80% for my overall on it. Schools that upgraded to the V from IV seem to adjust their points, where on the IV you got say 20 points for an 80%, now you may get 30 points. So at least it should work out fairly! Good luck on the test, it will be over soon!
