  1. and in a perfect world that will prevent a doctor from being rude and disrespectful. in my world that hasnt..we can agree to disagree. i have reported 2 this past year along with other nurses having done the same and we stick together and guess what? i still got my 2 promotions this year, my bonus and i have move up into my dept. One doctor that was infamously rude has been let go and another has changed his attitude. i will report...period. ..
  2. yeah saying that works before you report them.. best beleive they have no problem reporting YOU...GOT TO WATCH YOUR OWN BACK.
  3. atleast you are a man that helps..with women they are quicker to rip us to shreds..i will tell one in a minute that he is on speakerphone...or before i hang out i will notate for him all the yelling and cussing...and to callback when he feels like talking about said patient
  4. no no no. sorry i disagree. im a new nurse as well and when you document what occurred..and the dr. was proven inappropriate if that haunts you down the road at that facility you need to find another job. as a new nurse, i had a dr go off and me and guess what i did? i told him he WILL NOT talk to me that way...I TOLD HIM! YOU WILL NOT be disrespectful to me..and i reported it..and guess what? HE got spoken to. he was yelling and people heard it. so no. dont squeal and go to the corner with your tail under your butt. You are worthy of respect and as an adult you will not take anything less.
  5. exactly. i wouldve made a report to the hospital and the police dept..let the hospital deal with that abuse.
  6. hmm you are better than me. I would first off report him. I am a nurse , an adult, and i do not get paid to be verbally harassed. If he doesnt like his job that is his problem. Just last week a dr tried to get an attitude with me and i got it right back and guess what? he got reprimanded.
  7. my mother is a recruiter that primarily services the middle east in the agency she works for primarily...that is how i know.she negotiates their contracts, and goes back and forth between her clients and the hospitals when there are issues. I hear her giving the package info all the time when she works from home..some countries are a bit more than others but for non managerial positions i have noticed the pay is around the amount i stated.
  8. ok again...the nmc requirements and per the recruiter i only need one year of RN experience and a BSN. that is what i will have when i apply in one year. as i am about to start my first year working. i was simply asking on here becos i forgot to ask the recruiter if it will help me get the registration even though i probably wont have a job there lined up when i apply. I just want the registration even if i dotn work immediately..i just want it for the meanwhile we are there..eventually we will move back. im not worried about a job here in the usa..my mother is a nursing executive for a major hospital here and so is my father a physician i can always have ajob in the USA.. im specifically speaking of the UK. I JUST want the registration to meet the min requirements... all i wanted to see is if someone recently had an experience with the nmc etc...
  9. chile please..i dont know where you got your numbers. as an american trained nurse you can atleast expect to make a minimum of 65k/yr with housing as a single status non managerial position. if you go to saudi you may be able to get more. those numbers you gave are maybe filipino pay but an american? i highly doubt it..not for the uae, saudi, qatar or kuwait.
  10. i never said i was gonna have an anchor baby. I doubt it will take a few years that is not what the recruiter told me...again i just need registration..if i never work that is ok.And no skype babies you are taking it wayy too far with that assumption.Im a us citizen and he is a temp resident and his permanent residency is coming up..so no.
  11. thanks for the advice everyone. he is becoming a resident of the uk very soon as he has been there for over 10 years..and is masters degree educated. i dont really mind not finding a job immediately, i just want the registration number so that i have the option to work....as eventually we will move to the usa or canada in a few years. it really isnt feasible for me to live away from him for more than another year as i really want to have children. He is already established very well there..im just hoping that with him becoming a resident of the uk that it can help to up my odds of getting a registration number.
  12. hello all, i am a recent grad of darton. I would really ready and understand my post...take it for what it is. they are very welcoming before you are actually in the program. I started with 120 students...and graduated with 32. YOU GET 2 CHANCES to pass the math test every semester after fundamentals...if you dont pass it perfectly..you can try a 3rd time but if you dont get a 100, you fail the class. 2 fails equals a fail out of the program.there is no appeals process...they do NOT CARE..if your dad,mom died..you had personal issues they do not CARE. THUS why our class was so small. some simply couldnt take the non supportive environment and simply left. You can only drop 3 times. you do not get your money back. They lose about half of the class in fundamentals and a big part in med surg 1 and maternal/peds class. I would REALLY look into other programs as well. albany tech has one along with other south georgia universities like Thomas. keep your options open. eventhough i feel like darton prepped me, i would never recommend it.
  13. good luck to all of you at darton.im a new graduate. i will give you the FACTS and you can take it for what it is. I started out with 120 students..i graduated with 31. You take a math test every semester..you only get two chances before the drop date to get a perfect SCORE. after that if you stay in the class for the 3rd try if you fail it you FAIL THE CLASS. YOU only can fail one class in the whole program. 2 Fs and you fail out the program. You cannot go to another nursing school in georgia for five years if you fail out of another program. If you are looking for a supportive group of teachers you need to look elsewhere. They lose the most students in fundamental and maternal/peds classes. If i had to go to darton again, i would NOT do it. Alot of my costudents felt the same. I do feel they provided me with a great textbook education. BUT clinical skills i had to go to an out of town hospital my last semester of clinicals to feel comfortable. There is no appeal process if you fail out of the program.NONE. they do not care if your mom died, father died NOTHING.They are not supportive... just go in it with open eyes.
  14. Hello all, im in a predicament that i need to solve..and looking for suggestions. I am engaged to a resident of the UK and i am also a new grad ADN. i am doing my RN to BSN online that has a clinical component..(3 semesters).I was thinking of just staying in the usa and visiting him for one year in order to finish my bsn's clinical aspect and to gain one year experience. i contacted Continental Travel nurse agency and was advised the NMC doesnt give licenses to nurses with under 1 yr experience and a BSN is required. I also was advised certain specialities are needed more than others(but never given a website name to verify those) I really want to be with him and if i have to wait a year i will. However is there another way? maybe work for private hospital/clinic that dont require an NMC registration? is that possible? Or do i have no other choice but to wait for a nmc license? its not really that i have to work but i want the option thus i am trying to get some ideas on the quickest and best way to improve my situation. Im 30 years old and my fiance lives in London. thanks!
