TEAS Test Help

Hello all,

I am retaking the TEAS in order to achieve a higher overall score. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Of course, the reading and English was easy, but I struggled on the math and science portion. I understand why I missed most of the questions, I am really just looking to see if anyone remember any questions they had on the science portion. My tips are below:

Reading: Pay attention to the maps carefully. Take your time to read the question with understanding. You should have enough time to finish. Look out for questions asking you for antonyms and synonyms. This should be a breeze.

Math: You do not get a lot of time for the math portion, so my only advice would be to find the quickest way to solve basic math problems and read the questions carefully as well. I believe a common mistake is not finishing the problem all the way. Make sure you reduce terms to the lowest possible because the wrong answer you might get is on the test.

Science: I had questions on clouds, electrons, mRNA coding and amino acids, eukar/prok,etc. Therefore, I would just recommend searching the internet on the basics of each science that is on the test (i.e. chemistry, physics, biology, earth science).

English: Brush on commonly misspelled words such as accommodate, occasionally, accidentally, etc. Sentence structure is the hardest. Well, at least it was for me or maybe I just rushed through the test because I had plenty of time to focus on this section.

I sent you an message in your inbox with some tips.

I would buy the ATI TEAS study guide. It prepares you well for any kind of question on the test.

Hi MSMIAMI, can you please help me with some tips. I retake on nov. 17th.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi MSMIAMI,

Could you send me some tips too on the English portion. I have taken the test and did so well in Maths and Science. My English was so shameful. Can u give me any tips too. Thanks

I was told for the english that it is very similiar to the GED test. So I would go to your local library and check it out. I am not that great in english either, amazingly I did well but all I used was the ATI Book. My friend was having trouble with the english and the GED Book helped her. Hope this helps:)
