teas scores

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

When I took the teas test my scores were as follows. We had to have 82% on reading and an overall of 70%. I think it just depends on your school, but I don't know how good mine are. I know that when we left the testing center they handed all who passed student medical forms to have filled out. can anyone tell me if you think my scores are good or bad?

Adjusted individual total score: 80.0%

National mean: 72.8%

Program mean: 74.0%

National percentile rank: 75

Program percentile rank: 73

Reading: 90%

Math: 80.0%

Science: 70.0%

English:78.2%

Are you applying to a CC or a University? I applied to a 4yr University and I was told that anything from a 70-80 is considered 'average' while a score of 80-90 would be 'competitive.' Though from what I've been reading, the scores required for 2yr CC programs are generally less stringent. I would look at your Program Percentile Rank as a good indicator of where you stand. You scored a 73%, so you basically did as well as, or better than, 73% of the other people who took the test and applied to that program. Do you know how many people apply vs how many are accepted? There are usually a lot of other factors that go into whether or not you get accepted or not, but knowing as much as you can will give you a better idea of your chances. Good Luck! :)

It is at a CC. There are around 150 applying and only 40 slots. I was told that last years average scores would not be good to go by for I was competing against a whole new group. I know that lots of girls walked out last night and were crying cause they didn't make the limit of 82% in reading and overall average of 70%. Both of which I passed.

Well going by the limited numbers, 40/150 is 26% and with you being in the 27th percentile, it's going to be close. But there are usually many other things they take into consideration so you really can't go by those numbers alone. Also, as you said, it's a whole new group of applicants and some of them may not even enter the program when accepted if they are also accepted to another school. I'd say you have a pretty good shot at getting in.

How did you get 27%.

100% - 73%(Your program percentile rank)= 27% This would be 27% of applicants scored higher than you.

sorry, brain is not all there today

We all have those days...Good Luck!! :)

But the program percentile is not limited to her program only. They come up with the numbers from a sampling pool from programs that are similar.
