I haven't taken the Teas yet. I am trying to study as much as possible first. Also, the person you have to call to sign up with asked if I would wait until after the October cut off for the Spring students to take it because they don't have many slots for the test. Since I am trying to get in for Fall, she wanted me to let them have priority. Have you taken it? After this semester, I will have to take the 2 A&P's and Psych 241, and that's it for my pre req's. I will have to score pretty high on the Teas to get in for Fall. What about you? How are your pre req's coming along?
You've done more than I have so far. After this semester, I still need the two A&P's, the two Psych's and Eng115. If I don't get in for fall, I have it planned so I can get all my pre-req's done by the end of summer (hopefully) so I should be fine for spring if nothing else. I haven't taken the TEAS either. I'm waiting until probably December. I'm trying to study to make sure I do well on it too. I really want to start in Fall and get going! Do you know what the most you can make on the Teas is? I thought I heard somewhere 99. If that's the case, I doubt seriously I'll get in for Fall unless the points range is low this time around.
I don't know the max Teas score, but I think it would be okay if you didn't start if Fall. I mean, if you still have a couple of pre-req's, maybe it would be best to get them out of the way before you start the nursing program. I think that's why their system is set up the way it is. I have heard nursing students say that it is best to finish all pre-reqs first because you really have to put in a lot of time into nursing classes. At least you know for sure that if you don't get into the program for Fall, you definitely will get in for Spring. That's what I like about Forsyth Tech. I think it is a fair system because everyone can basically get in, it just takes time.

The courses we've been talking about aren't really pre-req's. They're the non-nursing courses that are part of the curriculum. The actualy pre-reqs for the program are that you took Biology and Algebra at some point. Here's a link to a pdf file that has the most complete info on what you need to do to get in. It has all the info about the points system, requirements for admission, and info on the testing procedures.

Hope that helps!!!
I am hoping to get into GTCC in the spring but I went and talked to the people over at Forsyth Tech. They said that they took the composite score. Something you might want to consider is that they said they take Teas scores from other schools so maybe you could take it at GTCC as a practice. If you do great, great use that score. If you don't do as well as you thought then you could figure out where you needed to study. I decided to take the test and see where I was weak and therefore study there :yeah:but I got an 82 so I just went with that. I hope that helps and good luck!! I hope you do fantastic!!

Can someone tell me what score Forsyth Tech in Winston Salem, NC uses from the Teas test. Do they use the number of questions you get correct or the percentage? I'm trying to figure out what my chances are of getting in for Fall '09. I remember them saying in the Info session that a total score around 140 - 150 is usually the low side of those getting in. Any info is greatly appreciated!
