TEAS Score Question

Published

I took the TEAS Tuesday and the critical thinking test Wednesday.

My scores for the TEAS were

87.1% adjusted individual score

95 National percentile rank

99 Program percentile rank

My critical test was:

85% Composite Score

97 percentile national

99 percentile program

The program I am going for adds up only the program percentile rates for each test and some points for pre-requisites that have been completed. It is, in my opinion, a completely messed up way to decide who goes to nursing school but I don't make the rules. There are 196 people applying for 40 spots, which is pretty good compared to the ratio that other schools have that I have been reading about on this site.

My question is: I was one of the first groups to take the test and my program percentile's are good but aren't those static numbers. Won't they change with the more people that take the test in the program?

Congratulations on your score. I recently took the TEAS and scored 88.2%. My understanding from the sheet given to me explaining how it is scored is that your score is compared to a ATI (the company who gives the test) data pool of people who are entering the same kind of program as you. You are compared to a large number of people not just students from your school. That is why your rank will remain pretty constant. Did that make any sense? If not I can write what the sheet says word for word.

No, you explained it well. I appreciate the reply. That does make a lot of sense since they do tell you that score is your score. I am just freakin' out a bit and I think it's just because for the past nine months I have had a test (or more than one) to study for and now I actually have a break. It's wierd not having something that needs to be read. Your score must be up there too. Thanks again.

I had a 85% individual score and only a 30 program percentile rank, which I totally can't understand. I need at least 45, for my program, which seems to me that I would need a 100 percent individual score. Jeez. Good Luck on your score, your question makes sense, but I think your score is probably pretty solid.

I would ask your adviser if your percentile rank is accurate. I scored 88.2 % and my program rank was 97. From other scores that I have seen on AllNurses your rank doesn't make sense.

I know, I am gonna retake it this week, and I will see how it goes, thank you for input!
