Teas keiser lakeland

Published

Hello all! I am currently sitting down waiting to take the TEAS test here at Keiser University in Lakeland Florida. Our school scores each section and it is my first time taking it. If I only pass one section, they will allow me to retake each section one by one. I am aware only 3% pass all 4 sections on the first try here at this school. I am mentally preparing myself for that and will be happy to at least pass math. I am hoping to pass the reading as well but not 100% sure it that will happen. I have been studying out of the ATI 5th edition study guide. I haven't been hard core with it daily but have read through and through the reading and math sections. I will comment back once I have finished and received feedback from my academic counselor. Wish me luck!

Funny thing... I passed reading only.. now I will go back to retake math portion 9/10..

FYI: As of September, ATI will switch from TEAS Version V to ATI TEAS. The book is now out, and there will be changes in the material that you are tested on. The minimum requirements will remain the same percentage wise, however the weight of each section will change. To clarify, Math and Reading will now be worth more towards your composite score, while Science and English will not weigh as heavily as it did in Version V. Minimum scores of 75% in Math and 56% in Science will remain the same. There will be more A&P questions in the new version and less earth and life science. It is highly recommended that you purchase the new study guide for your best chances at success. Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback! I am currently waiting in the lobby to take version 6. I purchased the book and have been studying for about a month. I purchased the bundle so I was able to take practice A & B twice. My first attempt for A was 54.7% and second was 70.7%. My first attempt for B was 55.3% and second was 75.3%. I also did the one and only practice test in the book and scored 62.3%. My scores obviously are not competitive. I need a 60% to pass. There are only 2 spots left for the January class. I'm really nervous to say the least but ready regardless. Of course I will update the outcome. I mentioned my practice scores because a lot of people want to know other there is a big difference between the practice test and the actual test. 14 minutes and I'll begin. Wish me luck!

Did you get the score you needed?

Great news!! I passed with a 68%!! I know it's low but I'll take it! Hoping this gives hope to someone out there.

To be completely honest, I only took the practice tests as study material. I didn't read the book and didn't practice anything. If I would've given more of an effort to study, my score would have been much higher, no doubt. The book I purchased from the ATI website was the corrected version. The book that has all the errors is red and the corrected version is greenish grey.

Was the actual exam more difficult than the online practice assessments or vice versa? Any specific tips?

The actual test was about the same as the practice tests. If math is your weak area, learn how to plug in the potential answers to check the answer. You're allowed to use the calculator that's built in. The calculator is small and doesn't allow you to move down to the problem you're on, so you'll have to write everything down and scroll up to figure it out. There was a few algebraic expressions and word problems. A ton of fractions and percents. Know mean, median and range. Science has a lot of Anatomy and Physiology. Know flat bone, long bone, where gases exchange in the lungs, where bile is produced and stored... There were questions from the practice tests and even questions that were the wrong choices so READ all the rationales. Everything that I tested on was in the ATI teas study guide. Hope this helps any. Good luck!

Did you get a seat in the program?

If so how's everything coming along?

I did get a seat in the program. I started May 8th of this year. I am currently in my 2nd semester. I completed first semester, Fundamentals and Pharmacology with a B. First semester was a struggle. I was a huge adjustment! I am doing well. Just ready to graduate. I love this school. They really prepare you for the NCLEX.
