Teas exam please help fellows

Hello fellow nurses and students. I've been reading everybody's posts but haven't posted myself due to embarrassment. This is getting to me and i cant control my depression anymore and i thought maybe you ladies and gentlemen can help. So i have taken my teas test twice. First time was a major bummer, i ended up with a score of 52 after draining myself with studying. Second time i took it i ended up with a score of 58 which was even more depressing because i had invested so much time and effort into studying i really thought i deserved better. So my question is am i over studying? I am really confused on what to study i have seen the test yes. I do have an idea of whats on there but i still feel like i end up going too into depth with the information and it confuses me during the exam. Can anybody please give me any specifics? Cause lately i've noticed that i think about the exam so much that i cant sleep at nights. I keep reviewing my study notes in my head the whole night. I am scheduled to take the exam in July and i have started studying already. I think my weakest point is reading comp. The phrases and the choices it offers confuses the hell outta me. The answer you would think is right really isnt. Like the question about a lady disappearing in the middle of the night after an unknown object showing up in the sky, which was asked on test. It tells you to find a logical conclusion but mostly all of them make sense. The one that makes the most sense is not correct. So i dont know what to study anymore and im really falling to a whirlpool of depression with over studying and getting too into depth with everything. Can someone please help if they have recently taken the exam and passed, what did you really focus on and how in depth did you go? Please, please ,please. Thank you

Is English your native language? The English grammar and reading portions would be tougher for non-native English-speakers. I recommend studying from the official ATI Study Guide because they not only tell you the answer to the practice questions, but also tell you why that is the answer. This might help you think like they do and get used to their question format. I also recommend that book for math as it helped me get 100% in math. For science, I recommend going back and studying your notes from your science classes. I hope this helps.

dont feel bad. I took it for the first time few weeks ago and scored 61 and needed 62 to pass for the program i applied to. Its depressing but you have to accept it and figure out a different way to study. maybe your studying should be changed, do you take notes? do you fully understand each content? I only had 2 weeks to study for it so i didnt really study like i should have but i would suggest you going back to your science text books if having problems understanding content. Ive also heard Khan academy has really helpful lessons on their website. are you on remediation?

The reading section made me so frustrated. Even if it seems like an answer is correct, it's not the most correct. What helped me was breaking down each section and studying them thoroughly. I would also write the main point of each paragraph in a passage, so it was easier to find the logical conclusion or the main idea of the text because I didn't have to go back and scan the exhibit.

I got a 78.00 on my first try and a 90.07 on my second. It can be very disappointing, but don't let it consume you. Use that disappointment as motivation to attack the information even harder. Stay positive.

Thank you! Ive tried everything. From studying the entire book, to studying online and flashcards. I am set for July so im going to try pushing myself as much as i can to study. Work and studying doesnt really go well together. But oh well.

Im sorry to hear that. But im sure youll do amazing the second time around. Yes! It is depressing, it kills me not knowing what to study. I just feel like i go way to deep into subjects, teaching myself unnecessary material. Ive noticed because i sit down to take the test thinking i know soo much but end up realizing that ive taught myself the total opposite of what i was really suppose to know. :/ I dont know i guess im super confused at this point.

Congrats! 82 is what my school is asking for admission. Yes i agree with the answers for the reading portion. There isnt a perfect answer and that confuses me the most. Their all so alike. I just need to stop letting myself get to deep into subjects and focus on what the book is asking me to know. Thank you!

I just took my test today for the 2nd Time and got a lower score from my first lmao. The first time I got a 72% and 2nd time I got a 70%. I'm in the same boat as you, I also felt like the ATI is a trash book and doesn't help at All when trying to explain. It is so vague and left me confused. The sections that brought down my score was the reading comprehension and the grammar is a pain. Just remember one thing never give up I'm going to have to take it again

How was Math and Sciences part for you? is it similar to the practicing tests from ATI?

I am taking my TEAS tomorrow... just anxious and afraid of failing :(

I completely understand Ken. Lmao it is frustrating, right when you feel like you have covered everything it slaps you in the butt and reminds you that you havent. 70 isnt bad :/. You should totally be able to get into a nursing school with that score.

Hello! For reference I got an 89%, let me tell you how I studied. I 100% recommend purchasing the TEAS ATI 6 study guide from their website and also the two practice tests that come with it in a bundle sort of thing. Best way to study for the TEAS is with that study guide, do not delve deeper for the exam on the math, grammar, and reading portions. Only study for those what is inside of the study guide. For anatomy though I do recommend going a little deeper especially for the systems and maybe a brief review of chemistry? You may very well be over studying, something that I actively tried to avoid because I know of my tendency to do that. Don't cram too much info you may not need in your head and don't overthink the questions and burn yourself out. Read the study guide from cover to cover and complete the little quizzes at the end of each topic and the tests at the end of each section to test yourself and also as practice problems for the exam. Then take the first online practice exam from the bundle and see what you still lack in. Focus on those and review those bits as much as you can, then take the second online practice exam about a day or two before the real exam so you're in the zone for the exam. Review over what you did worst in again and do your best to get a good night's sleep before the exam.

You're just like me with the constantly thinking about things at night lol. Relax! You'll do fine. You're just totally psyching yourself out. Don't stress so much because it could also be something that is affecting you when you are taking the exam. Try to drink some tea and chill, just think of it as any other test. You'll get more comfortable with it after taking the practice exams, as well.

I think the key is taking the time to review all of the material and then condensing it while you learn until you can go over pretty much everything in your head. That way you know if you have it memorized. This is mainly for the science section.

The reading section can definitely be frustrating and tiresome. Just practice! Focus and review the answers and how they relate to the passage.

For English and Math, the manual was great in the topics it covered and I just practiced the ones I was unsure about, took quizzes on them etc.

I got a 90.0% when I took it last week.
