Our two med/surg floors are having a day long "retreat" a few months from now.. Last year: we discussed issues going on in the different units by drawing pictures of how we feel about our unit and then each group discusses it in front of everyone.. We also made lists of things we wanted change.. (Some of our shifts really lack any sort of teamwork :argue: and due to budget difficulties we have had a lot of stress lately with understaffing etc).
I was wondering if anyone else has been to a similar retreat... if so what are some things you did... Looking for new and fun things to include in this years retreat...
Thanks!

My facility only retreats the administration.

A talk about lateral violence in nursing can always enlighten them into realizing how harsh they are being percieved and how to improve.....

Sometimes we don't know how we are being percieved......and with the added stress maybe they need tools on how to better cope.
Good Luck
