Hi!!!!! I will start school in fall. I was going into nursing but I thought about changing my major to teaching. After finish the RN program do you take extra classes to get a certificate for teaching? what classes can you teach?

There's no certificate for teaching nursing in WV. Most colleges require a master's degree although if you have a bachelor's and are pursing a master's, you can do some teaching...

I did find out earlier this summer that to teach in the LPN program, you had to have a minimum of a bachelor's in nursing plus a certificate to teach in a vocational setting. Even with my master's degree, I would need the vocational teaching certificate.

I do have a master's in nursing with an emphasis on nursing education. I'd be happy to give you more information.

Currently, I am teaching at a local community college. I taught a clinical part-time for 4 years. This year I decided to try full-time teaching and its a learning experience. I'm in my last week of my first semester. :D

When I was young I always wanted to do either vet, nursing or teacher. I'm glad you're happy with teaching. Yes, I would to like more information. I'm doing research on Nursing, teaching, and etc. I even been doing research on masters and ph.d in a education administrators. I would like to get my masters or ph.d in nursing then major in another field like either business or teaching. I'm afraid I won't be able make it through nursing school my husband isn't supportive about school and nursing is so hard. my husband said they're people with degrees that can't find jobs so I'm wasting my time if I go back to college. Was nursing school hard for you? Would you go for assoicate degree then bachelor or go straight for my BSN. please give me your opinion on the ASN and BSN programs. Thanks
