  1. Your advice has been a great encouragement for me to continue in nursing. Thank you so much for the encouragment.
  2. After working as a CNA, I wanted to go into nursing. One of my family members told me I shouldn't go into nursing because I have a speech impair. Can you still be nurse if you have a speech impair? This is my first semster of school and I made all A and high B. I don't know how to explain my speech impair. My words are not clear and completed but I do fine when I slow down pronounce words.
  3. I am trying to decide if nursing is the right field for me. I have heard mostly bad things about nursing like they are over worked and underpaid. I think it is disrespectful to our nurses who gets a BSN and doesn't get paid more. It doesn't make sense because you get paid more in other fields if you get your Bachelors so why not nurses. I 'm not trying start a debate because ASN worked hard for their degree too. I'm just curious to heard why y'all think the BSN nurses are not paid more. Why is nursing barely considered a profession?
  4. :balloons: I am doing my prequisites at Floyd college then I may transfer to Jacksonsville University. Did you like the ASN program at Floyd college? I've read post that some schools don't teach enough clinicals, and the teachers are rude and out to fail you. I like Floyd College so far and thier school has been a great. :balloons: :balloons:
  5. I am attending a 2 years college and I thought about transferring to a 4 years college after I finished this semster. Can anyone give me advice about their experiences at a 2 year college and and at a 4 year universities. What is the differences?
  6. I read the article and it seems majority of nurses like their jobs. Nurse practitioner/midwifes was in 80%.
  7. Thank you for the replies. I appreciate your help. I love to learn hand-on training so i'm not avoiding clincals. I just hate them because I get too nervous. I want a job that I can enjoy and I don't care about money. Nursing and Vet are my top picks in careers.
  8. If you could do it over again would you do LPN-ASN-BSN-MS or ASN -BSN-MS or ASN-MS or BSN- MS? I want to Go for BSN!!! Does the BSN program give you another clinical practice to prepare you for your job or do you wish you had more clinical practice. I need some advice?

I think i would like BSN better because I hate clinicals and BSN seems to be more management less clinicals.

When I was young I always wanted to do either vet, nursing or teacher. I'm glad you're happy with teaching. Yes, I would to like more information. I'm doing research on Nursing, teaching, and etc. I even been doing research on masters and ph.d in a education administrators. I would like to get my masters or ph.d in nursing then major in another field like either business or teaching. I'm afraid I won't be able make it through nursing school my husband isn't supportive about school and nursing is so hard. my husband said they're people with degrees that can't find jobs so I'm wasting my time if I go back to college. Was nursing school hard for you? Would you go for assoicate degree then bachelor or go straight for my BSN. please give me your opinion on the ASN and BSN programs. Thanks
