I am a brand new member to this website and am seeking other student's or nurses' opinions on a teaching project. I am in my third semester of the nursing program at my school and I am to present to my clinical group an article I was given to read and "react" to. Anyway the article is about the bias against the older population once they are stricken with a CA diagnosis. Many oncologists look at their chances of survival as slim due to many elder's preexisting comorbidities. As prospective medical personal we know there are many ways around treatment even for the most complex patient. There is a chart in the article which describes the possible consequences the various chemotherapies may have on the older adult (such as adriamycin on someone with HF, etc.) I wanted to blow this chart up and hand it out but am not sure WHERE to go from there!? PLEASE help any input would be greatly appreciated!!
