Teaching plan question

Hello -

I am workingon my very first teaching plan. The form I'm using is asking for an "educational diagnosis/knowledge deficit". Can someone give me an idea of what I should include in this section? Just need someone to point me in the right direction. If it matters, my nursing diagnosis is "risk for falls related to antihypertensive medications"

just about any nursing diagnosis is going work there. the reason i say that is because teaching is a nursing intervention that is a part of every nursing diagnosis and there are 188 or so nursing diagnoses that would need to have nursing interventions including teaching interventions. there is one nursing diagnosis that is specifically teaching oriented and that is deficient knowledge (specify). but you are not limited to using that diagnosis. you could have a patient with pneumonia who has impaired gas exchange because their lungs are loaded with pus and exudate and needs to be taught how to deep breathe and cough to clear that gunk out of their lungs. it is perfectly ok to keep the diagnosis of impaired gas exchange and include as a nursing intervention a teaching plan on how to deep breathe and cough since it relates to the diagnosis.
