Specializes in HFICU.

Hello everyone,

just wondering if people still use this forum to talk during the application cycle..

Specializes in ICU.

Hello!  I’ve seen previous posts and was hoping someone would make a post for this application cycle. Have you started your application?

Specializes in HFICU.

Yea I started mine but I’m applying to 2 schools that have an April 1st deadline so I haven’t really focused on getting it done, but I will in 2 weeks or so LOL

I am also applying this circle. Goodluck yall.

How are y’all’s stats?
I’m taking the GRE on Friday and a little worried. Partially because I’m not sure how much they factor it into their selection process.

They said they would look at students holistically, so I am not sure how much GRE would factor into it. I am taking my GRE next week, I am definitely not ready for it.

I took my GRE in February but feel like I could have done better and don’t want that to be the reason they disregard my application so I am retaking it next month ? it’s rough.

Hello,

I am planning to apply this application cycle as well. I took the GRE last week and didn’t score nearly as well as I had hoped. I’m hoping my application will still get considered though.

Glad I’m not the only one! It’s definitely a difficult test and I didn’t score as well as I wanted to either. I should be submitting the application next week either way so good luck to you guys!

For some great information on applying to the program, y’all should attend the information session on April 25th at 4pm! The information for how to get the zoom link is listed on the TCU CRNA homepage on the website.

I am also applying this year, and did not score as well as I wanted to on the GRE but I have seen others be accepted with my score.

Was anyone able to be on the zoom yesterday? I missed it and was wondering what information was given!

Hey y’all! Joining this thread as a January hopeful… I just submitted my app the other day. The Zoom session was primarily the attendees asking questions in the chat and faculty answering. Lots of questions about GRE scores, clinical sites, etc. Their admissions page is so comprehensive there wasn’t really much that you would’ve missed if you didn’t make it! Clinical sites are ranked by the applicants’ preferences, and whoever has the most legitimate reason to stay in DFW gets assigned there (kids, family, etc.). Otherwise, you’ll likely be assigned a different site.

I saw someone asking about stats up above. I will say I definitely believe they look at you holistically because I know some students in the program who had GPAs in the 3.5 - 3.6 range with average volunteer involvement or experience, so it’s not necessarily just all about having a “perfect-on-paper” resume. But I’m sharing mine just for a reference frame since I know a lot of people like to have something to gauge their own info against!

GPA - 3.8 overall, science 3.97. 2 years CVICU experience, 1.3 years full time staff and approaching 1 year as a traveler currently. 305 GRE (155V 150Q - took it twice because it was super tough for me and improved to this score - they do want you to send all available scores). 113/125 CCRN, lots of volunteering across the board, both medical and community. No work committees, attended both RN and Anesthesia workshops, shadowed for 24 hours.

I’ll be lurking this board as the weeks pass. I hope we all get accepted and can be classmates come January!
