TCC TEAS questions

Specializes in ICU.

I'm thinking about applying for TCC's nursing program for Spring 09 (FYI the application is up on their website now). The only pre-reqs I have left are Micro (starts later this month) and English 2. I still need to take the TEAS test as well.

For anyone who has already taken the TEAS, do you think someone who hasnt taken micro yet would still have a pretty good chance of making a desent grade on it - or would you recommend that I wait until the next application period to take it - after I've completed micro? The TEAS test dates are all in september - so I could squeeze in some study time before then.

One more question - the app says you can only take the TEAS once during an application period. Does that mean that a person can re-take it again and again each app period if needed or are you only aloud a set number to times to re-take it?

TIA!!! :heartbeat

There is very little medical science on the Teas...more physical and life sciences. You can take the TEAS twice only. Your last score counts even if it is lower than the first.

If you have some time to study you can probably do well. Use the study guide.

Good luck!

I had only 1 A&P question, zero Microbiology, 4 Chemistry, and lots of life, earth, and general science. Math is thru Algegra and Geometry, but no higher. Reading is reading passages and answering questions, and English is mostly parts of sentences and spelling, as well as forms of words, like their, they're and there. Your biggest hurtle is not having completed Microbiology yet. I would advise completing everything before you apply, including Eng. II. However, Microbiology is a biggie. Even if you are taking it when you apply, they will not count it as completed. It is almost impossible to get in without having all the points from the sciences, as they are weighed the heaviest. I know one person who did it, but she was an alternate, and got in the day before class started because someone dropped out for another school's program. Best of luck!
