TCC Part-Time or Bridge Program?

Published

I applied for the Spring start of TCC's RN program, but I was 5 points under the cut off. I still have to take physiology and microbiology. I just found out that I was accepted into TTC's LPN program. Now, I have to decide if I want to go through their LPN program and then bridge over to TCC's RN program or I could apply for TCC's part time program and I was told I would probably get in with no problems. Would you please provide me with some insight into these 2 programs so I can make a difinitive decision? I would greatly appreciate it.

I am in the Part-time program right now and I would highly recommend it. The pace is only slightly slower then the full time program. In the summer you take I&P and Dosage/Pharm then you take Fundamentals in the Fall. The load is still heavy. I was ready for the full time program and I have finished all of my pre and co-reqs but this was just the best option for me. I have 3 kids and this is a true blessing to me. I get to be a mom and a student. I love that I have been given such an oppertunity.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't a cake walk but for a few extra semesters the sanity is worth it to me.

PS we are getting to know other level instructors before we get there and that has been really helpful.

I checked into the part time program at TCC....isn't it in the evenings? What is the schedule like?

right now it is in the evenings but, scheduling has been difficult on the staff so next semester they are going to weekdays. we will have class wed afternoons 3-6 and thurs, friday 7-2. my kids are in school 8-3 so that works beautifully with our schedule.

however i have a 2 year old that i will have to get a sitter for but, it will be such a short time i think it's worth it. i have missed so much since june. we have had thurs, friday and saturdays since then and i can't wait for my evenings and weekend back.

the program is not without its faults but, which one is? we are the guinea pigs and hopefully all of the bugs will be worked out when others get there next semester.

let me know if i can be anymore help to you
