Who else went to this? There was a lot of good info - but the disappointing part was that Math 0304 no longer counts!! You are required to take Math 0350 OR re-take and pass the Accuplacer. So I'll be taking this next Friday. The testing hours are M-Th 9-2:30 and Friday 9-1:30 (I just called). Is this affecting anyone else?
Also - I've always had my mind set on going to TCC for the Nursing Program, (mainly b/c of the cost and thats where i've taken all my pre-reqs) - but I'm thinking I need to broaden my search. TCC has a reputation of being very difficult to get into. I havent even looked into any other school. Does anyone know anything about other nursing programs in FW? Are their pre-reqs pretty much the same as TCC? Any info at all would be appreciated.

Hi! I have also taken all of my pre reqs at TCC but was recently accepted to Weatherford College. The pre reqs that are required are basically the same but WC uses a point system for ranking/selection versus TCC ranks by GPA. While still competetive, it does give you a better chance if you have completed most/all of the pre reqs. Good Luck!
Thanks for this info. I am going to look into WC. And congrats on being accepted! Thats great!!!

I had to re-schedule my info session.... tell me, did they give an idea of what a competitive GPA is to get in? I'm becoming nervous! Or is it more having all your classes completed with a decent (3.6 +) GPA that counts?
Thanks in advance!

The more pre-reqs completed the better. She did mention that the lowest gpa accepted was 3.0 and the next lowest was 3.2
the lowest EVER or the lowest last semester?
I promise I'm done bugging you now :)

Try Brookhaven. Their pre-reqs are BIOL 2401, PSYC 2301, ENGL 1301, and CHEM 1405-1406. They will not accept TCC's chemistry...BUT you could maybe take this class online and earn the credit tht you need....the good this is that the majority of TCC's pre-reqs are classes that are actually within their cirriculum. I would imagine that would give you a steep advantage over other applicants, not to mention, the program may be shortened. They have their nursing program in Dallas at the Mountain View location. Good Luck! El Centro has one as well, but their pre-reqs are slightly different.
